Don't worry. It is just a scare tactic, no one will ever turn up at your doorstep as it is pointless for them as they have no rights to enter your property, if they attempt to step onto your property just tell them to "jog on", there is nothing they can ever do.
A debt collector is NOT a bailiff
Some collection agencies may threaten to send someone to your home if you refuse to pay them the amounts they request. As a representative of a Debt Collection Agency, they have no powers at all. You do not need to speak to them if you do not wish to.

Edit your post to remove all names/numbers/references. Never a good idea to post these
It's designed to be threatening and to pressure you. Full of what they might do, what they'll likely do is send you more letters and emails.
What you should do depends on your circumstances, it would be well worth a visit to your local citizens advice. Do NOT phone these people, if you choose to respond, write, but get some advice before you do anything. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Thanks for the reassurance. I've already looked into a debt management plan; just waiting on the paperwork. And hope to pay a little bit off this debt on payday to keep them quiet.0 -
Don't be frightened by these cretins.
If they start rambling on about adding charges / interest etc, write and ask for a copy of the documentation / legislation upon which they rely to add such charges...;)
If a doorstepper DOES turn up, just tell them to get lost or you will call the police.
This is the usual scare tactics from such scum.......:mad:Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -

thanks. Do you know if they can charge me for "missed payments"?0 -
Personally, the first thing I'd do is carry out a CCA request to see what documentation they actually have.
Dca's do have a habit of adding "unlawful charges" and rely on the ignorance of the debtor.......;)
"Doorstep collection fees" being one good example of the total crud they come out with......Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -

Dear Sir/Madam
Re:- Account/Reference Number 4563210025897412
This letter is a formal request pursuant to s.77/78 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. I require you to provide me with a true copy of the credit agreement relating to the above account, together with any other documentation the Act requires you to provide.
I expect you to comply fully and properly with this request, within the statutory time limit. You are reminded that should you fail to comply with my request, the provisions of s.77 will apply.
If it is your view that you are not the creditor, s.175 of the CCA 1974 applies in the case of a simple assignment, and places a duty upon you to pass this request to the creditor. In the case of an absolute assignment, you are a creditor as defined by s.189. If you contend that you purchased the rights but not the duties of any agreement, you are reminded that s.189 of the Act is clear that an assignment is of both rights and duties.
Your attention is drawn to ss.5(2), 3(b),6 and 7 of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 (CPUTR).
I enclose a postal order in the sum of £1.00, which is the statutory fee. Note that these funds are not to be used for any other purpose.
If you are unable to comply fully and properly with this request, you should confirm this in writing at the earliest opportunity, and certainly within the statutory time limit for compliance, and return the fee.
We look forward to hearing from you.
