Derbyshire Statement

Just got a statement through from the Derbyshire. There is a bit of a Nationwide look and feel about it and they have linked up my Nationwide customer number.
I would not be surprised if some systems integration/account migration is around the corner.

Yes, I got my statement through this week from the Cheshire and noticed it referenced my Nationwide customer number.
My Nationwide customer number is 10 digits long, whereas my Cheshire customer number was 9 digits long.
I wonder if all Cheshire/Derbyshire/Dunfermaline customers have now been allocated a 10-digit Nationwide customer number? I would be interested to know.
Perhaps any Cheshire/Derbyshire/Dunfermaline customers who don't have any Nationwide accounts could check their recently received statement or agm voting form to see if there is a 10-digit Nationwide customer number quoted. Thanks.0 -

I was surprised to receive a Nationwide voting form since I don't have an account with them, but the covering letter explains that Derbyshire, Cheshire and Dunfermline customers are included.
I have a Derbyshire account, there is a 10 digit customer number on the voting form. It is not my account number. What can I do with it?0 -
It just means that you have been allocated a Nationwide customer number which you could quote if you ever need to contact the Derbyshire contact centre so they can identify you quickly. That's about the only use I can think of. If you ever do open a Nationwide account you will already have a Nationwide customer number which you would then use to log on to the Nationwide online banking website.0

BTW Vortigern, have you received an annual savings statement recently or has it not come yet (it lists all your Derbyshire account balances and comes with a leaflet which details all of Derbyshire's currently available accounts) ?0

Yes, received that too. Not especially useful. Statement filed, accompanying bumpf recycled.0 -
I received mine yesterday and my Derbyshire Platinum Saver issue 3 is only earning 1% according to the statement. Anyone else the same?
I've not missed any payments and I've not made any withdrawals.0 -
You can vote with it. A uniform customer number stops people voting twice if they have both a Nationwide account and a Derbyshire account. I'm kind of idly wondering if there was previously any way to stop people voting twice, though I don't expect to lose any sleep over it.I have a Derbyshire account, there is a 10 digit customer number on the voting form. It is not my account number. What can I do with it?"It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
I suppose some information (current balance, current gross interest rate, interest credited) is good, but it is not presented very well.
The interest credited is net (why does it not say so?) and there is no mention of tax deducted. Fine for MSE diehards who know what is going on, but not for others who could do with a bit more explanation.
Six out of ten. Could do better.0 -
That's generous of you! I think I'd only give three out of ten. For me, the only useful information was confirmation of the interest rate.Sceptic001 wrote: »I suppose some information (current balance, current gross interest rate, interest credited) is good, but it is not presented very well.

I can log in and find out, but when was the interest credited? I have checked that it was on 30 Nov 2011, so if they were going to mail me anyway a Tax Deduction Certificate for 2011-2012 would have been useful for my tax file. I don't recall being asked if I wanted one when I opened the account and would have said 'Yes'.
After a quick look, I can't see anything online about tax which many others now provide.".....where it is corrupt, purge it....."0 -

Yes, my issue 3 is showing as 1%, and my issue 1 showing correctly at 5%.
I have exactly the same accounts with Cheshire and the statement arrived the same day showing 5% on both.
I rang Derbyshire who assured me I would get 5% as long as I met all conditions, but were unable to give any believable reason for the statement showing 1%.0
