which isp dont have fair usage policy?

Hi i have been with tiscali now for over 12 months and recently have started downloading a fair bit. they have starting controlling my internet in peak times. 6-11 every night. i aint happy with it but aint gunna moan.

what i'm after is a good fast broadband service with uncapped downloads. and no FPU. does anyone know of any?

to be honest unless you are prepaired to pay serious cash cable is the only option. most asdl isps can and do monitor your usage and shape it acordingly, if i recall it costs isps something like 49p a gig so if you are downloading over 50gigs a month the youll probably need a business line say £40pm and up for much lower speeds.

because cable is a different tech its harder to monitor and the cable co's arnt that good so dont really care unless you seriously take the !!!!, they also offer lower latency and theoreticaly higher speeds, ill be on 20meg soon and thats a real 20 meg not upto like asdl2+. unfortunatly if you havent been cabled you are out of luck, hence im willing to pay a premium for any house i am looking at to buy in an ntl area.

Hey Lewt,

How much bandwidth are you currently using a month? I think that the triggers for the Tiscali FUP are quite low so you may be able to go onto a package that publishes their usage and do quite well for yourself.

Bulldog (up to) 8mb unlimited package at £19.50 + £10.50 phone line rental has no download limits... FAQ's say:

Does Bulldog's Unlimited service have any download / time restrictions?
No. Our Unlimtied service is completely free from restrictions so you can download as much as you want, or surf for as long as you want, all at up to 8 meg speeds.

Customer service is awful but actual phone/broadband service is fine...
