Argos samsung laptop warranty transfer?

hi,

i bought a samsung laptop from argos online website, it came with the normal 12 month maufacture warranty, i did not take out any extra warranty.

can you tell me if is possible to transfer the remaing 10 months warranty to some one else, if i sell it on ebay?

i was under the impression that this was ok and possible !!! as long as they have the order number, but when i called argos today they said no? it must be my name and address.

any help would be great cheers!

Ignore what Argos told you as they appear to be commenting on your statutory rights under the Sale of goods act. These rights are between the original purchaser and the retailer, and as any future owners have no contract with Argos, they have no rights against them.

The manufacturers warranty is a different matter.
Samsung do appear to allow this to be transferred.

Warranty periods and warranty services are intended as a guide only and variations may occur. The warranty period applies from the date of purchase by the first customer and is transferable only between end-users.
