In very very few cases it's food poisoning. People always call it this but if it was food poisoning then everyone at the hotel would be ill. Of course it can happen when everyone is ill but not often at all.
There are a number of reasons people get ill, including too much drink in the very hot sun, change of food, water etc. In Sharm, i'm afraid it just seems to be a virus that gets passed around in the air and if you are unlucky you pick it up as i myself did once. This was after having the same meals as my other half and she was fine.:beer:0 -
Yes, it drives me mad when people say that they get food poisoning!!
As you say it's drinking cold alcoholic drinks in high temperatures, high temperatures themselves cause vomiting and upset tums, so don't blame the Egyptians or their food!
Sharm el Sheikh is a great place to stay, I have been twice in August and it IS hot but I found the best thing to do was laze around all day under an umbrella, swim, lie in the pool on an airbed catching some rays (with tons of Factor 50 on), read and sleep, then go out in the evenings - still hot but not so bad.
Have a lovely time xxChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -

It's not all down to alcohol, I did mention that the heat can affect your tum as can cold drinks and ice creams.
Even in this country people are affected when travelling to another area in the UK by the change in water etc, so the majority of the time it is not food poisoning!Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
....I travelled the world for 20years and only once was i ill and that was from a conch in garlic in costa rica.... but i do and strictly stick to a no ice policy and last year was the only one not ill in a party of nine people....Stay away from ice .It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0
