Another way is to appeal it straight away giving your address details and hope they don't go to the dvla for the details, once they refuse your appeal you ignore all the letters
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

could i call them and ask them to send all the crap to me and not to my work place

You absolutely must take action to make sure neither the lease co nor the company take this fake PCN seriously.

That includes writing to the scammers to say it's 'your car' (but don't actually say 'I was driving' and don't at this stage tip them of that it's a company car or they may seize the opportunity to try to squeeze the money out of the lease co). Just say, 'my car had a PCN on the windscreen but not sure why, please explain more...' that sort of thing (nothing about the driver or the parking situation at all).

And it includes educating the Fleet Managers to stop them falling for this fake PCN - you must stick your neck out and tell them about this scam now, before any letters may arrive.

Up front, now, immediately! send them the sort of info that MacBudman sent to his Fleet Manager when he got a fake PCN:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...ight=macbudman

The OP of that thread has managed to seemingly educate his Fleet Manager and is now receiving the letters himself, and is ignoring them of course.

Look at the links and advice given there and use it to tell your company that this is a fake PCN, a made up invoice for which no-one can be 'pursued' except the driver and you will of course be ignoring it as it's a well known scam.

Point out as MacBudman did to his Fleet manager, that any Admin fee or deduction from salary mentioned in your car use t&cs is only applicable to real 'fines/penalties' (bet your car use t&cs only says this).

A fake PCN from a private company is NOT a PCN at all, not a fine and not a penalty at all.

The Fleet News link and the BVRLA link on the linked thread are the info to back up your information to your company. Do not take no for an answer but tread carefully as it's your job of course. Do NOT be told it's a fine. Do NOT be told they have to protect the company name in case of repercussions (they have zero liability, in fact it's not their business).

Finally do as MacBudman did and as already advised, write NOW to the PPC stating that it's your car but you do not understand why you got what looks like a parking ticket (be vague and try to hook them into dealing with you). Do not sign with your real signature as these are scammers we are talking about. Maybe mis-spell your surname so you can easily tell when each letter arrives that relates to this scam!

At least that way, they should contunue to send the future letters to you but if not you will have covered the scam clearly with the Fleet Managers up front. With a company car, do NOT just wait and see what happens - because what will happen is, the company will pay it.

Make sure you don't call it a penalty.

    Its an invoice.

Its NOT (and this will be the bit in their Ts & Cs with the lease company so it's important) a fine, nor a penalty, and its not been issued under legislation relating to parking, by an authority. So, in the bit where it describes who's liable for parking tickets, note that what you have received does not qualify under the description.

Unless you're really unlucky and it says private parking invoices or similar. But hopefully you should be OK.

Seconded, you must read that MacBudman thread I linked and learn that this is NOT a penalty or fine which is why it's not covered by your car use T&Cs and is nothing to do with the Fleet Manager nor the Lease co.

Turn up for the meeting having read the MacBudman thread and having printed off a couple of copies of the Fleet news article AND definitely the BVRLA website template letters if the Lease co want to respond to the scam (they are best ignoring as they have zero liability). You could also make it clear that you are happy for the Lease co to name you as the person responsible for the car, and/or you are happy to write and take full responsibility. But you are NOT happy for the lease co or your company to take it seriously or think it's any risk to them at all.

It is NOT their liability it's yours alone - and they are wrong if they say there's a problem for them here.

This is YOUR issue, your fake PCN. Not theirs. Your T&Cs will NOT cover this invoice, almost certainly, if it just talks about penalties and fines. This is neither, so do NOT call it one and correct them politely if they make that mistake. Call it a private invoice which is a well known scam and nothing for them to even be bothered with.

Go to the meeting assuming the person will know NOTHING about this scam. The person might think it's a fine. Be ready with your info and stay calm.

It is not a fine, as above your T&Cs probably say somehting about fines and penaltys, this is neither of those, its an ( unenforcable) specualtive invoice.

A lot of people fall victim to this, and if your going to a meeting about the parking issue, then go there with the aim of educating/helping the lease/hire company about the problem, once they realise what the PPC game is all about they will end up saving money.

    Hi
today i parked in a retail centre and had to park my work van across 3 spaces because it was to big to park in between the line and when i came back i found one of this friendly notices on my windscreen

should i pay or just ignore it.

    Many thanks

    Hi Guys,

Like the post above I too have received a letter detailing the need for payment within a 14 day period, although my permit was clearly displayed they still decided to issue me with a notice. They also state that a parking charge was issued on my car, which it wasn't. So I am in limbo about what to do with the notice, which has been issued by UKPC, only due to the fact their website states people have had to pay £300 and upwards when taken to court?:(
