in Water bills
I have just had to rewrite this as it appears there is some issue going on with this site!!!!
I have a credit with SEW of over £200+, as I am no longer with SEW I applied for the credit to be refunded, this was declined as I could not get the signature of my ex partner who's name happens to be on the previous bills.
It is impossible to get a signature for my ex partner to state that when the relationship ended and my partner left I maintained all bills, including water, but changing the names on the bills was the last thing on my mind as I was going through a difficult period.
Can anyone advise as to what I could do get this money back? Or do I simply have to allow SEW to keep it? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated

SEW can only return money to the account holder unless the facts as you have explained them can be established - i.e. you were paying the bills.
I would contact the CAB. They might draft a letter stating that you pay all the other household bills. Armed with such a letter SEW might refund the money to you with the proviso that if your ex puts in a claim, you have to repay.0 -

Cardew - thanks for your reply. I'm not sure how I can provide evidence as the payment book I used to pay with I no longer have. Though having said that the payment had to be signed....obviously by me.....so not sure if the payment slip would be then forwarded back to SEW at all.
I did explain in a letter when I made the claim that I could not get in touch with my ex but they simply stated they could not release the money.
I wouldn't normally bother but as it is a large amount I really don't want to lose out, I was good enough to maintain payment and stay in credit with them...just a bit frustrating that now I can't seem to get it back0
