OCD about Comping

I am defintely a compoholic but I wouldn't use the term OCD. It is a very debilitating condition, OP. Not one to make light of, like I'm a bit Schizo about comps! I jones like a meth addict for comps!
You know what I mean...

I am work and getting comping withdrawal symptons...
does anyone else get a bit anxious if they go more than a day without comping...I know I do but its because I am an end date comper and if I miss a day i get very anxious....
I was just wondering if their is anyone else in the same boat as I go home after work and comp for an hour or two every night
:rotfl: I am exactly the same!!!! Maybe we need to stop comping by end date!!THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO POSTS COMPETITIONS

I think I'm bucking the trend lol.
I used to do about 1500 per week but due to health and other issues I'm doing less and less, probably about 200-300 per week.
It's not bothering me either, it used to if I didn't get at least 200 per day done but not anymore.
In fact if there is anyone wanting to take over best and Essentials in the postals thread I'd be mighty gratefulA strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others.0 -
I see comping as a hobby, the same way I feel about knitting and reading, the form of OCD I have is that I set a time and enter comps in that time, then go onto something else, that way I do not get bored with comping:)2020: New Year, New Decade, New Adventures!!

I suffer OCD in real life anyway so if my routine gets knocked then I go CRAZY!!!! I am feeling completely lost not having the daily mag comps to do at the moment!
I don't comp all day but have a set way of doing things and at certain times so if I have to go out then yes I do worry that I am going to get behind. I wouldn't say it is because I am obsessed with comping because it is a genuine problem I have. For example, I have to plan everything in advance and if someone rang and asked me to come for a coffee now - I just couldn't as I need at least a day or two notice! Silly I know but that is just the way I am.
I also feel more guilty about comping during the Summer as most people want to get out as much as they can - even if it is to sunbathe in the garden! I must admit I prefer the Winter when it is cold and wet and I have a good excuse to stay in!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
Like BlueBella, I suffer from OCD normally anyway. When we went away for a couple of days in April, when I came back, I just couldn't be bothered to comp. I was also in the first trimester of my pregnancy and suffering alot with that and the M.E so just didn't have the motivation and then the more I saw how many comps I had to get through, the harder it was to get started again!
I did manage to catch up though and now I'm back to being OCD about getting them done each day, but that's only because I don't want to fall behind again!2019 Wins

Thanks - sometimes I feel silly though ! I just panic and get stressed and cannot deal with instant decision making! It is nice to not feel I am the only one!
I also agree with the comment regarding falling behind - it seems like there are sooooo many comps posted on here each daily! I am selective in what I enter but I am also slow to enter because I suffer from double vision  I was terrible during the advents too - I actually dreamed about comping for many nights and would often wake in a sweat thinking - OMG did I do the advents???! But like I said previous - it isn't obsession over comping - I get obsessed about everything from cleanliness (I hoover every day as I panic over crumbs) to washing my hands!:(
Thanks EverDecreasingCircles - great username - I should be Hoola Loopy!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -

No i def dont get withdrawels, i work on average 16 hours a day 6 days a week and if i get time and my family are sorted, then i might do some comps, but my family time will always come first, i wouldnt dream of paying thousands for a holiday to sit there and do competitions, sometimes i think i wish id entered a few more, then i see my house tidy, work done, family happy and know my time has been spent doing worthwhile things. I understand some people dont have kids or families or cant work etc, but i still personally think things like this can actually take over peoples lives, just like the internet did when that first came along xx2025 Wins ::
