I see it as a hobby... not something that needs to be done. I *personally* don't think it should become all-consuming, so when you're on holiday you actually enjoy your holiday - not worrying about trying to win holidays! :)

I agree with Elsbells - I like to do it but it is not on my essential to-do list for the day.

I went away for 4 months this year (3 months after I undiscovered the joys of comping) and the week before I went, I frantically tried to enter as many as I could. When I was away, I didn't have internet access so I didn't really think about it but the day after I came back, the laptop got booted up again and here I am!

I am planning on going back to work after being on career leave so I wonder how I will manage that with 2 young children.

I miss comping when I am away. Missed quite a few weeks this year already with work conferences and training away from home etc. Even contemplated taking my PC with me but decided that I wouldn't get any essential networking done if I did!!
I have won some lovely things and I am love reading I won and hearing how other people have had a better day because of comping. I daydream about the biggie wins too, keeps me going. It's all a bit doom and gloom at the moment, it's nice to have something positive as a hobby :)

I was definitely having problems being away from comping. I was also getting really anxious if I couldn't keep on top of comping. I have Asperger's Syndrome and it became a huge obsession for me. It got to the point where I had to stop completely or suffer a breakdown!!!

I'm just now getting back into it a bit but only doing a few each day - I suspect that it'll take over again soon though. I've been coming here years so i can't see it stopping just yet lol.

Last year, 3 months after I started comping, we had two weeks holiday in Florida. Fortunately (for me), there was laptop in the villa, so I could check my emails and enter a few dailies, but my husband was not impressed! This year we're off to Kefalonia in August, with absolutely no internet access, so I really will be lost!
Huge respect to all those who take the time to post competitions. You're all great! :T

I won a holiday to the Bahamas for a week, once it was booked and all sorted out, I realised we'd picked the worst time to go.........December........Advent competition time, won't be making that mistake again! I didn't think about it too much when we were there, the hotel had wifi, so I managed to check my emails but didn't enter any comps for the week.

Awww bless you lot, I actually thought people weren't addicted as such, just a hobby but surprised at how many get withdrawals, and admittedly when I started comping many years ago I was winning some amazing things so for me I made sure I was entering everyday or near enough. I think my hubby thought it would be a passing phase... it wasn't lol.

We moved house this year and my instant reaction to having no internet access was uh oh, how am I going to do my uni work during this time. I must have taken a few months at least out and to be honest I was happy to have those few hours back a day.

Been back comping a month or so and enjoying it again, I really feel it is something you can dip in and out of and still enjoy.

I remember there was two weeks I spent near enough every waking hour at work and could barely comp, and it showed no wins and it was frustrating but work puts food on the table, comping doesn't (99% of the time lol).

Have never felt the itch on holiday to comp but I figure it's time to chill and get away from it all, literally.

Hope your'e all winning lots and sparkley lucky dust to all :)
