Insurance nightmare

we submited a claim in March for bathroom leak which went through kitchen ceiling, assesor came and said the artext would have to be tested,ok 3 weeks later tested positive then had to remove ceiling, also removed lights. The assesor was made aware my hubby had COPD and we have our daughter and 4 month old grandaughter living with us.Despite numerous calls to Ins nothing was happening, unfortunatly one evening my husband slipped in kitchen and he fell against sink unit on the side where he has a kidney transplant.......urgent scan and now been told he will losse that kidney major surgery with his health conditions. I want to know who is liable ? I kept the insurance informed off the full situation ?the assesor on his visit did advice we might be moved out? The builders asked for asbestoss retest before they could replace ceiling due to dust and debris falling behind the wooden wall panels. This has gone on and on now and we have just had ceiling replaced and wall panels removed any help please. I am the policy holder.

You have my sympathies for your husband

What caused your husband to slip ?

Was there builders materials etc in the kitchen?

Sometimes a personal letter to the Chief Executive or Claims Director is the way forward in these situations.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

This is the important part. If the builders have left materials and tools all over the kitchen and that's what he slipped on then I think it's obvious where the fault lies.

Basically, what caused him to slip?

If your husband 'just slipped' then I don't see that there's anyone to blame.

It would probably be best sounding some no win no fee solicitors out to see if they will take the case as this indicates you have a good case.

You may find you have legal cover / advice from a union if he's a member

We have given our daughters permission to seek advice. I think i have lost my fight and am concentrating in getting work done and looking after hubby . He is in constant pain and passing a lot of blood. Cat scan monday to see the extent of damage to his kidney ? Its the thought of taking on a major company even though i know they shouldnt have left us in these conditions. We have plasterer today dont know how they will be able to work as very dark morning due to the weather !

The legal cover that's added onto Home Insurance typically excludes claiming against your Home Insurer
