    Morning all

Thanks for the well wishes :A, feeling much better today :) slept solidly for 6hours, then was awake for one, then back to sleep for an hour. Just got a sniffle today and an annoying cough.

Today is my Mum's birthday, and also my colleagues 40th birthday! I saw my Mum on Sunday so won't be seeing her today, gave her flowers and some money towards stuff she wants for garden. For my colleague, the boys arranged to get him a bottle of his favourite whiskey and I arrnaged a big card and the birthday cake (Tesco's not HM, didn't have time!). He is a quiet unassuming type and seemed very touched by the gift.

My work kids have gone off rock climbing today, but I stayed in office cos it affects my vertigo too much. I have lots and lots to be getting on with though :(!!!

OS wise - HM soup from freezer for lunch, HM veggie lasagne for dinner from freezer, with LO mash and veg. Dishes to wash.

    Have a good day all

    Morning all,
Happy Anniversaries to Bitsy and H,belated wishes for HH&Minder.
    Feel better soon FB

I have the house to myself today, woohoo, very unusual as DS1 usually works from home but he's helping his Dad & brother.I've stripped 2 beds and thats on the line, though its clouded over a bit now.Might see if there is anymore washing lurking in case.It certainly felt warm when the sun was out while walking Leo.

I did lots of chopping in the garden yesterday afternoon, lucky the green bin got emptied yesterday. Was a bit miffed this morning, the lady gardener who does next door has chopped all the flowers off an antirrhinum that self seeded last year on our side next to the wall that is at the top of our driveway  Ok some flowers had finished, but it still looked ok.Now it looks like a weed growing out of the wall, grrr.

    Tea tonight,chicken with leeks,gammon for DS2.
Right off to make the most of the dry weather, take care everybody.
Gintot-I'm sure your new bedroom will be lovely, worth it in the end :)

    Morning all,
Been up since 6 but doing things. Washing and ironing done now. emails sent and window people phoned. Got to phone my sister tonight about my Dad's birthday this year. Hopefully he will make it to New Years' Eve when he will be 80:eek: Won't do anything on that date, as he wouldn't be able to cope with it, but had a thought that if we took him to the chinese on the 1st December, he could eat some starters and a duck pancake. He can't eat full meals anymore, because of his breathing so that seems the best solution.

Going out to lunch in a few minutes with my MS friends. A local pub does a carvery for £4.95. we've been before and had a good time, and the sun is out too!:T

    Love to Nmic

    Happy Anniversary Hester and Hubby

    Hi.

Lovely day here, scoured the house for some washing to do but I was so efficient when we got back from Greece that it is all done. The ironing is another story.

Yesterday's visit to the cash and carry was ostensibly for the drop in but we always do a side order for ourselves so I'm just about to bag up and freeze 2 kilos of sausages, 4 kilos of bacon and 20 chicken breasts. We had a sausage sandwich for lunch today - very nice it was too. Tonight will be a chicken stir fry followed by Greek yoghurt and honey, we're trying to keep the spirit of our holiday alive for as long as possible.

It's the IOW festival this weekend so everyone is preparing for a siege. We don't suffer too much where we are but we have an appointment in Southampton on Thursday and the ferries are impossible. We'll be fine going over but joining the thousands coming back. Rain is forecast for the poor festival goers - it usually happens.

I haven't read todays thread yet so can't comment on anything. Hope all is well.

Happy anniversary HH and Bitsy, hope the celebrations are good!
Glad you are feeling a bit better FB

    Afternoon All

Meeting with HR this morning which resulted in my having a new school to go to in August, upset about leaving all my friends but glad to be away from Management.
Cleaning Company just been to assess fire damage - some stuff they can clean, other is to be replaced. I must say that I am very impressed with the speed at which all this is happening. Just the builder to get a quote from now.
All washing line dried, no ironing which is a bonus, will throw the hoover about in a bit, DD can have baked pot for tea, I will have some left-overs from last night.

    Take care. XX

    I've been Money Tipped!
So far I have done a smidgeon of washing, ironing, donated all that is possible to next door, done a little bit here, a little bit there, the stew for tonight has been postponed so burgers and mash, picked up little bear from school and there was the note - all children are supposed to come to school dressed as Elmo on Friday. By my reckoning that gives me two clear days' notice.

Elmo is, apparently, a multi coloured elephant. I took a deep breath when I thought - what on earth am I going to use for a multi coloured elephant costume. In two days. With no sewing skill. With that amount of notice, even ebay is not my friend.

They have kindly added that the children could just come in brightly coloured patterned clothes or even all in grey like a real elephant. So it could be worse as little bear has some really eyewatering pyjamas in mainly turquoise with red and beige lines running over it like plaid, but even so.

Considering popping into town to get fabric crayons to happen to a white t-shirt that can be worn with the very, very, very bright pyjama trousers. However I am very grateful if anyone else has ideas.

I am going to have a bit of a browse and then this evening I shall be taking my irritation out on the kitchen - I don't have the stamina to watch England play.

Sybil Elmer (not Elmo) is brightly coloured, in patchwork squares, so it's easy to do! Heres's a link to Amazon and the cover of the first book:

    Hope this helps!
