Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 19th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

FB - Hope your feeling better to do lovey xx

    Good morning Bargainbird and all,

I'm up early as the dogs needed to go out and then wouldnt settle. Was going back to bed but thought what the heck... the sun is shining its a shame to waste the beginning of the day by going back to bed.

Nothing planned for my day as yet but no doubt i'll find something to do.

    Happy anniversary for yesterday Hester.

Have a good day all :-)

Morning BB, Moorhen and HH and all who cross and follow.

Hope you had a lovely anniversary yesterday HH.

Sunny here today so will put washing on in a minute. MIA yesterday buying a new bed eek such a wide choice. Nice divan with drawers. Can't remember how long we have had the old one......but it sure needs replacing.

You would think that I would be excited having a new bedroom but I am worrying like crazy.....it's getting the sequence right.... skim plastering the walls and ceiling (sleeping in DS's bedroom while he is on holiday) choosing new colours, painting, new carpet, buying new bedding, new bed delivered......I think we will be cream walls and brown carpet with pale turquoise accents in bedding and stuff. I have already bought the extra deep fitted sheets I need in the 20% off sale.

Quiche and salad with new potatoes for tea with hg lettuce and radishes. I will make some green soup for lunch as I have a courgette to use up and I have lettuce, spring onions and frozen peas. A loaf of bread is going in the breadmaker.

We had hg broad beans Sunday and they were lovely. Yesterday we had Japanese pork curry and rice with some curry blocks and Japanese rice I brought home from visiting DD and the lo pork from Sunday. It is milder than Indian curry.

Thanks guys I feel better putting this down in writing ....

Hugs to all who need them especially those who have lost loved ones, poorlies and people who would like a cheer up.

    Have a good day.

    Morning everyone

FB - Hope you're feeling better today x

Mum and dad registered Aunt's death yesterday and met again with the Funeral Director and they are hoping for a funeral on 29 June - but it's not definite as yet - hoping they can confirm later today.

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Bright, sunny and clear here this morning, and rain cleared yesterday afternoon and ended up being a lovely afternoon and evening. DH up and off to work at stupid early. Washing already on the line.

Dinner last night was pork chops, mash, veg and gravy. Tonight will be smoked sausage pasta with creme fraiche sauce. Have made a bit of a dent in the full to the brim fridge, hopefully after tonight's dinner I'll actually be able to see what's in there! The LO apple pie must be used up tonight or binned - I just don't throw food away anymore so will need to persuade the menfolk into eating it! May stop off on the way home and pick up some cream/ice cream to go with the apple pie.

Had a nice surprise yesterday - opened a letter to find a cheque for overpaid admin costs when we changed our mortgage lender, didn't know anything about it - so nice bit extra!

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Bright sunny day here, got a load of towels in the wm, and another 2 loads to go in.

I have a horrible earache so need to phone the doc in a while, need to get that sorted before our holibobs.

Dinner tonight is S + K pie for OH veggie pie for dd, and pork chop for me, the others will have mash, but I will just have the veg.

Need to drop dd off at work, do an online shop, and hoover through.

    Have good days all.

    Dashing past, hugs to all

Delivery from Mr A last night. They substituted 600g grams of diced turkey thigh with 340g of turkey stir fry. Making 340g of turkey meat feed four is a little bit of a challenge. There may be a lot of barley in the slow cooker.

And using my slow cooker in June :(

I grabbed all the stuff on the way home from dropping off little bear. Today I will come straight home and then put dinner in the slow cooker, hang out the last of the textiles from darling uncle and then keep feeding the washing machine.

Then flylady. I hope I do better than yesterday

    hugs to all

    nmlc - thinking of you

hester - a whole year, really happy for you.

    Morning :hello:

I managed to get a lot done yesterday. I planned the website by using a piece of paper for each page, then wrote/drew (then rearranged a lot!) on each piece. I'm pretty sure web designers don't quite do it like that but I don't really know what I'm doing :D I've got a couple of ideas for Christmas things for kids.

I sorted some more bits for my (the others can't be trusted in there, so it's now MINE) shed. Had great fun smashing up an old chest of drawers with a hammer. I found some of those clips (not sure what they're called - small nail, bit of curved plastic) so I went round the skirting boards and tacked all the wires to them. I cut some chives and froze them. 300 eggs boxes have been ordered, just need to find a home for them now :D

Today I need to sort out the hall cupboard to make room for the egg boxes. While it's empty I might add a spur from the socket on the other side of the wall, then I'll be able to plug Henry in in there and hoover the whole house in one go :D The weeds on the veg patch need a lot of attention :o

Just found lots of dirty dishes in master tru's room, I will be having a word with him later :naughty::naughty:
