virgin media field technician

Hello all,

Sorry for jumping on a thread that's gone quiet but I need a bit of advice.

Apologies if I come across as dumb but I only ask because I applied for the role of Access Field Technician with Virgin Media, and I have completed the phone interview and have now been invited to an assessment day which is fast approaching, and as part of the assessment day I have to prepare a 3 minute presentation on why I'd like to work for VM, that includes: what interests me about the Field Tech role, what I think will be the most positive & also the most challenging aspects of the role & Why I think I would be suited for the role.

I've been looking at the VM careers page as part of my research for the role of Field Technician and on their site they have the following:

"Our Field Engineers are the ones who get out into people’s homes to install and repair our TiVo boxes and broadband. So you’ll need to know your stuff, solve problems quickly and be good with people.

Field Technicians use their technical knowledge to specialise in either service or installations - learning how to repair and install basic network elements too. You’ll be out in the real world, driving one of our vans, so a full driving licence (and no more than six points) will definitely be an essential."

What is it that Field Technician's do exactly? I thought they'd be the guys that come to the house and do the installations

I don't want to prepare a presentation that isn't targeted correctly as this opportunity is massive for me, so if there's anyone out there that can shed any light on it for me I'd be extremely grateful.
