Parking Eye Fine - Crown Wharf Walsall

I arrived home this evening to find a 'Parking Charge Notice' letter from a company called Parking Eye. It shows a photographic image of my vehicle entering and exiting the Crown Wharf shopping complex in Walsall and is stating I parked on the 'private land' without paying for a parking ticket on Thursday 7th June 2012.

I can categorically state I DID purchase a ticket for £1 for an hours parking and I am totally confused and upset as to why I now have this notice. I even had the car parking ticket still on my dashboard up until last Friday when I disposed of it on 'recycling day.'

I am really worried because now I have NO proof other than Parking Eye checking the onsite CCTV footage of me purchasing my ticket at the ticket machine. They are demanding £50 which will then increase to £80 + £30 (admin charges.)

I do NOT want to pay for something I didn't even do but I am concerned this could effect my credit score rating if I refuse to do so. How have they got my address details and how has this happened???

Please help

    Ignore them.

You have paid the landowner for the use of their land so the damages is zero.

So ignore Parking "try to charged an Ambulance" Eye and that shopping area whose managament company is stupid enough to employ thugs to mismanage their car-park

they can get your details by paying £2.50 to the DVLA.

you dont have to pay for it, you already bought a ticket and paid your due, they can not charge you any thing more.

theres also no chance of parking eye checking their CCTV all they want to do is obtain your money, other than the legitamate parkign charge they have no right to do so.

the best advice is to ignore all letters and corresponance with parking eye over this, however if you want to fight back you can if you dont like the scary un enforcable letters you can stop them as they are not legaly enforcable.

take a good look trough the various posts on here, and the letter chains thread at the top, you will soon realise that this is nothing but a scam and its safe to ignore if you want.

as mentioned earlier you can even fight back, agains parking eye and who ever gave them permission to opperate on that land, as the land owner is also responsable for the actions of their agents ( in the case parking eye) this means that if they dont stop sending (unenforcable) threats after you ask them you can also go after whoever contracted parking eye for harrasment.
if your going to complain make sure that you go to both parties ( parking eye and the car park owners) dont forget to remind the car park owners who contracted parking eye that they are jointly liable for the actions of their agents.

As for your credit rating fear not as there is no debt to pay.

infact if you want to complain/do something about it go for the landowner/car park owner, educate them that they are jointly liable, and if the letters dont stop legal proceedings for harrasment against them will be issued.

Stop taking this shower seriously NOW!

Its a complete and utter scam - go check the forum sticky to see the scary toilet paper thay will send you and relax. It won't be anything more than that.

Don't appeal/contact them - this will only prolong their efforts to scam you. The photos mean nothing at all and are no proof of anything, nor can they affect your credit in any way.

And look through this forum for hundreds of examples of how to deal with them - including my own. Just ignore! :)

Your credit score will not be damaged. For that to happen it would have to go to court, you lose and THEN you don't pay whatever the judge orders within 28 day's, This is such an unlikely scenario then it's not worth worrying about.

Thank you ALL for your advice and help. I can now breathe a huge sigh of relief as I wait for the next correspondence aka 'threatening' letter from a bunch of thugs otherwise known as Parking Eye.

It also has the same pictures of me entering and leaving. the photos state i arrived at 13.20:26 and left at 15.17:20. I remeber this day clearly as i was going shopping to get stuff for my holiday the next day and it was a very hot day. I was rustling around for change in my purse as i had been to several other shopping centres just taht morning as it was a last minute holiday! I still have my parking ticket :) Issue time on my ticket i purchased is 13:26 and is valid to 15:26. They won't be charging any Admin fee on top nor taking this seriously if you can send them the sort of info that MacBudman sent to his Fleet Manager when he got a fake PCN like yours:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showth...light=macbudman

The OP of that thread has managed to seemingly educate his Fleet Manager and is now receiving the letters himself, and is ignoring them of course. Look at the links and advice given there and use it to tell your company that this is a fake PCN, a made up invoice for which no-one can be 'pursued' except the driver and you will of course be ignoring it as it's a well known scam.

Point out as MacBudman did to his Fleet manager, that their Admin fee is only applicable to real 'fines/penalties' (bet your car use t&cs only says this).

A fake PCN from a private company is NOT a PCN at all, not a fine and not a penalty at all. The Fleet News link and the BVRLA link on the linked thread are the info to back up your information to your company. Do not take no for an answer but tread carefully as it's your job of course. Do NOT be told it's a fine. Do NOT be told they have to protect the company name in case of repercussions (they have zero liability, in fact it's not their business).

Finally do as MacBudman did and write to the PPC stating that their letter has been passed to you as it's your company car but 'the driver' did have a P&D ticket from that day (enclose photocopy, keep original). Tell them you consider the matter closed. Do not sign with your real signature as these are scammers we are talking about. Maybe mis-spell your surname so you can easily tell when each letter arrives that relates to this scam!

At least that way, they should contunue to send the future letters to you.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I would advise you to appeal, and admit being the driver.

Hopefully they will send all the letters to you instead of your company.

You should send them a PHOTOCOPY of the ticket, and point out very clearly to them that the landowner's losses are zero, and that Parking Eye are not entitled to any further sum of money.

Your company is not liable as they are not party to any civil agreement you supposedly formed with Parking Eye when you parked there. It is not a fine issued by any 'Authority' (as is probably described in your company's terms and conditions) so any payment they make and deduction of anything from your wages, including any admin fee, would most likely be a breach of your contract of employment with them.
