Hi,
I am in the final processes of claim against Abbey and it is at a stage were i feel i need some advice.
I have gone through all the stages of the claim process, online at first and then in my local county court, and Abbey has defended my claim. It has now gone from the county court and been transfered to the London Mercantile Court which is based within the Admiralty and Commercial Court at the Royal Courts of Justice!!! As you could imagine, i am a little bit concerned now.
I recieved a letter from the Royal Courts of Justice today (22/5/07) stating that i can either attend the hearing or i can send in my written views towards my case. I am unsure wether i should attend or write my views, any advice would be much appreciated. Also my case seems to be at a stage which seems far advanced than most other peoples cases, should i be concerned with this?
One other point is my case is being heard on the 15th June 07, and is being collectively head along side other claims, to quote "save time and expenses".
Any help or advice would be such a relief as i need to present any written views to the court by the 12th June 07, that is if i do not attend.
Martin, i'm not sure if you read these posts, but if you do, your advice would be most gratefull.
Thank you in advance
Wish me good luck

Sounds like something new but I wouldn't be alarmed.
I'd phone up the court and ask why this has been transferred again. If you're allocated in a block hearing then this will be happening to other people too. Perhaps the Central london county court is being overrun?0 -
Don't worry, the local court must just be booked up. Look on the bright side - you get to go to a big, impressive court. Actually turn up though - it'll look bad otherwise and they'll be others in the same boat as you there.
Should be a nice day out!0 -
It sounds like you aren't on the small claims track, so are you claiming for more than £5000? If you are then it's a whole different ball game.Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.0

Thanks for all your replies, keep them coming.
To quote one in particular .......Kurt_Hamster wrote: »It sounds like you aren't on the small claims track, so are you claiming for more than £5000? If you are then it's a whole different ball game.
Actually my claim is only for just over £1300 including interest!
Thanks again0 -
I seem to recall a topic on the CAG site discussing this particular situation.Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.0

My case has just been transferred to Mercantile Court, Leeds, to be heard on 28 June. I must submit a case management sheet to all parties before the case is heard. Does anyone have any advice on filling this sheet in? Has this happened at anyone else?Stick to YOUR timescale. Dont take ANY bull. DONT be intimidated. The law is on OUR side.
Feel free to thank me if I was a help
