No, we don't have a logo - it's on the TO DO list. All staff bar one (who gets paid just one day a week) are volunteers. We've lost most of our funding due to various cutback (including from the NHS - even though 50% of our clients come via their GPs !!)
That's a good idea about finding someone who can design something for us. Will start asking around. Thank you
The reason I ask is that the professional ones can be disastrous, witness the Lisa Simpson blow job that is the London Olympics logo
Here's more.

Our charity has been in existence for 12 years and we've done without a logo so far. Depends on how much money the charity has (to pay someone to design it)? Also, lots of small charities / community groups have websites but don't have logos - honestly!)
Thanks for the advice.0 -
Why not design your own logo?

Dave:):) Too true!
That's a great idea. At the risk of sounding technologically inept, if we were to try to design our own, where would we start ??? Is there a website? Do we need a particular piece of software?0 -

You just need someone with a little bit of artistic talent. Let them sketch ideas, then worry about getting it onto a computer. Look around at similar charities and see what they use as a logo.
if it's simple text on a plain background, something like Word is quite capable of it and you can play around with fonts to your heart's content. If you want to incorporate a photograph, then someone with reasonable camera skills will probably also have acces to some image editing software.

I would worry more about a copyright flagrancy case than upsetting someone.
make sure you have a written licence to use the image in the way described.
Even some images on these free websites are not the property of the websites
There is a trade in leaving images out to be stolen, tracking down usage and billing the user for its use plus flagrancy charges, a flagrancy charge is a punishment payment for copyright theft and can be enforced via the courts.
In short make sure you have the correct licence or use one of your own images.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
