Their are honest, genuine people looking for work who want to work and it's those people are was referring to. Not those that sign on for life without any intention of ever finding a job.

So please don't judge me the same as everyone else. You don't know why I'm unemployed or anything about me.

And as for the cost it would take to look into each case, you should see how much money is wasted in these places with paperwork, so called training courses and more staff then is needed.

Ahhh right then, lets just add more cost then shall we not?

Without being nasty, I dont care about the reasons why you are not in work etc. Im just saying if you dont turn up for your appointment you shouldn't get paid. No excuses. The country is on its knees, why should the rest of us who work everyday keep paying for people who cant even be bothered to turn up to one 20min chat once a fortnight.

But if he missed it... then he missed it? !!!!!! happens

if it's geniune simpply phone up etc and you'll get paid..

    (where only human after all)

so the country is on it's knees? Jesus... where the hell do you live? this country is broken 'broken Britain'

You'll only get sanctioned if you miss an appointment or if your 'name' is on a document etc... that says you need to go to a course...

watch out for the JSA dragons... they'll do anything to trick people to stop the cash.

What planet are you people on. How can you miss a 20min appointment when you have NO JOB with NOTHING to do all day?

This country is broken BECAUSE we are paying so much out to people who cant be bothered working (im not saying the OP here cant be bothered). This is EXACTLY why we should be saving money and kicking people up the !!!!! to get a job. Missing this kind of appointment is another part of the problem! For all the OP knows, there could have been a potential job waiting for them at the time of there appointment!

JSA Dragons? Tricking people? Wheres the trick? The OP didn't turn up due to whatever reason, no trick there. JSA is the worlds easiest money, turn up and sign something and heres some cash. If people cant even be bothered to do that on time then thats there problem.

Ermm if you're relying on someone else to feed and clothe you then yes, you should be 100% free for that 20 minute appointment!!!!

Why is it such a difficult concept to grasp?!

    Exactly!

If I was told by my boss that I had to attend a certain appointment, once a fortnight in order to keep my job, I'd move hell or high water to make sure I got there on time, every single time. All that would stop me would be a serious emergency or accident such as a death, fire or being hit by a bus.

If the time/day of the appointment would sometimes change, then I'd make sure I checked every single time. I wouldn't do this because I love my job, I'd do it because I need to pay my bills and "no job = no money"!

If the OP's partner has a genuine disability that affects his memory, that's one thing. But if it's just a case of being unable to prioritise and organise himself, despite knowing that his baby depends on him, then he needs a good (metaphorical) shake!

    !!!!!!. missed what point?

Yes I have been on JSA for a short time, and when they told me to come in and see them I was there, everytime without fail on time as they were to feed my kid and pay for my house.

What are you smoking here? Anyone who has no job should be free all the time, and ESPECIALLY at the time they have to go and sign for there FREE MONEY. The country (and the people who work and pay taxes) would be skint if we just handed cash out because `human !!!!!! happens'. You need a reality check.

Funny, the people who dont turn up to there appointments, get sanctioned and complain on here are probably the first people to ring up complaining when they haven't got there JSA on time also..
