Bit Odd

There was a knock at my door the other evening 5.30pm and a man asked if he could borrow some tin foil as he had a leak in his car.
I said sure and asked how much he wanted, he said he would take the roll and bring the rest back.
He got back into his car and drove off!
I am still waiting for the roll back, this was 6 days ago!:undecided

Did he mend the leak first? Or just got in his car and drove off?LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

Has anything gone missing from the area near the front door while you were in the kitchen getting the foil?0

How close are you to a corner shop or supermarket?
He used up the roll, and there was nothing to bring back.
More likely, he couldn't be bothered.
Least likely scenario - you get a bunch of flowers and the roll back.0 -

No nothing, nothing was worth taking anyway! Also my friend works for the police and there is not a lot of crime in our area.
He just looked like a bloke in a old car on his way home from work!0 -
Very bizarre indeed!
Perhaps he was stressed and forgot to bring the roll back?
Perhaps it was just an excuse to check who lived in your house? Or if there was somebody in your house? What does your friend who works for the police think?LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

He must have driven fairly close to a few shops to get to my house, and I live on an estate so I am guessing he was almost home.
Yes I keep expecting a new roll on my doorstep!!0 -

We live on the corner of a busy road, lots of people walking by and its quite easy to see in the front room, so I am not sure if he was checking it out. He also parked right outside my house on the wrong side of the road, like he only just made it round the corner.
We were just laughing about it really, she thought it was funny but she said that people have reported less!0 -
Perhaps he wanted it to make a helmet!! lol X0

You know what I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks back. This time though it was a neighbour.
A young guy knocked the door and asked if he I had some spare tin foil for his chicken as he'd run out. Now, this did seem a bit odd but obliged anyhow. I've since found out that he and his girlfriend are druggies so that kind of explained it for me!
Rather odd though..0
