wifi on laptop

hi guys, as you may see I,m trying to set up sons Fujitsu Siemens Amilo laptop pc, using vista basic celeron m.
I cannot find a wifi button to turn wifi on, (mine is on side where ethernet cable inserts)
There is a wifi signal light(out) on bottom with several others, all off except on/off, to sygnify if it,s on/off.
Can anyone help me turn wifi on, son, as usual lost manual;;;;?
It,s a few years old,4 approx, been idle for last 2,just re-connected to bb:beer:

When you get the wifi working, you will possibly have another issue whereby the laptop says it's connected to wifi, but you cannot connect to the internet. This is likely because Vista doesn't like the more secure WPA2 security mode used by most recent routers. On most routers this can be fixed by logging into the router's admin pages and changing the security mode to WEP (note: this is less secure than WPA2). After doing this you might need to re-enter network security key on other wireless devices.

hi Yorkie dont work on this. Been on to fujitsu site,and other before here and there was a solution, quite a rigmarole,on ask,copy/paste a load of bumf onto startup. when i did it, windows said it couldnt find the file I saved to startup;;;shortcut
Theres quite a lot with same problem.
I dont think it,s ever been enabled from new;
update;;;fn+f2 ok now I think.cheers all

I think his is a new thomson but the pc is at my house.wifi light is on and in network, its saying it,s connected to my router using my password?

If it's connected without an ethernet cable, then wifi is enabled and working!

Wifi on Vista will not work with WPA2. It will only work with WEP.
