Morning all,
Clouded over here and looking ominous, no rain forecast but mu joints say differently.
The cats had brought DH a lovely fathers day present of dead and dismembered pigeon this morning.....how thoughtful.
DDs were going to cook him a lovely meal instead of a gift, we're not big on gifts for this sort of occasion. Sadly DD2 has a sickness bug so spent all of yesterday running for the loo, DD1 has my stinking cold and fells very poorly too so I cooked the meal last night just for the two of us.
Need to Hoover through this morning, will get all the cat bedding washed and out on the line, have a potter in each room and attempt to scale the ironing mountain.
YS pork loin for tonight, think I will slice it, pan fry it and do a creamy peppercorn sauce to go with....yum."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hi all,
Hope everybody enjoys Daddy day - OH was chuffed as DS2 had bought him a card and a pint mug. DS and DD are with their dad this weekend, so expect them back later.
Was up early and chucked a chicken in the oven to roast off for the first stage of 'rubber chicken' will have a roast today, plus make a pie, and chicken and leek pasties, then stock with the carcass.
Anyhoo off to L&dl in a bit so will go and hang washing out whilst its dry, hopefully will be ready to iron when I get back.
Have a great day all xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Morning everyone. Sat in the living room watching coverage of the Le Mans 24 hour race and snuffling - looks like I've got a cold coming on. Blech. Doesn't really matter though as I'll still have to go on as normal.
Lasagne for tea, all the ironing is done, and loads to do. I feel like I'm in a bit of an organisational frame of mind and feel like prepping something!
Have a good day everyone.

Morning All
Have done the duty (on behalf of the kids!) of making DH's cooked breakfast for Father's day. I'll make a turkey roast with all the trimmings later too. Off out shortly with my Mum to M#talan - don't think she's ever been before so we're off for a little mooch around there.
Been busy 'spring' cleaning the house in preparation for starting my new job tomorrow, and DD's birthday weekend next weekend. Still soem way to go but it's looking much better already. Stardops have done their jobHoping to get some washing out today, although the weather isn't looking to accommodating.
Must fly anyway, catch you all later

Hmm must look at this messies, I am rubbish at flylady, keep forgetting.
I'm off to get the train home soon and the rest of the family are back from their cruise today. Have a bottle of Strathisla in my bag for dad, he will need it as he's been rationed to a 75cl bottle to last the whole two week cruise :rotfl:Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Morning all, dry here at the moment but not very sunny. Will try to put washing out. We went to get a new kitten yesterday so now have a little ginger boy called Loki. very sweet but obviously a bit stressed at the moment as he keeps crying. He's fine as long as DD is cuddling him so I think she's going to be doing that most of today. We need to tidy up as her friend is bringing her little boy to see the kitten later. Jack the labrador is very interested and a tad jealous. Apart from that usual things to do today. Hugs to all in need. Hope all the dads have a good Father's day. Have a good day all.:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund

Happy Fathers Day to all the deserving dads out there
Hope you all have a good one. My kids are taking me out for dinner today (I think given their age, I will be paying though)
Lovely thought from them though0 -
Hi flutterbyuk25 and all,
rain, rain and more rain.I'm sick of it now. Especially as yesterday we had a nasty experience whilst out when a huge thick branch of an old tree fell on our car as we were off to go shopping. How the heck it didnt shatter the windscreen beats me as it fell from a great height and it was about 5ft long and at least 4" thick. The trees down the 'holloway' have overhung the road for years and are centuries old. Periodically the council trim them back but what with the exceptionally wet weather it seems that they are more of a danger than usual.
I honestly believe, if i had been a cat, i would have lost one of my 9 lives yesterday.
Remarkably, although the car has suffered some damage, it could have been a lot worse though hubby is flapping about structural damage.
Missing my Dad and my StepDad today on Fathers day. My Father died in 1980 and my StepDad in 1998. Both were wonderful men and i loved them dearly (and still do).
Have a lovely day all (and look out for falling tree branches). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Just 'cos those women have got the kids to send me a Fathers Day card today, i'm not admitting anything to any of them until we've had a Dna test !!

Good Afternoon Everyone!
DS remembered to send the card without prompting which was good! Also rang DH for a chat, so all is well here! Poor DS feeling a bit annoyed - he gets to see his daughter on Sunday afternoons, but ex told him on Friday that LO will be going to a party today. Needless to say the depression button kicked in bigtime. He'll see her later tho' - just for much less time that he'd hoped. Tried to point out that this is just another day - and he's her dad every day...
Rubber chicken here today too! Washing on line, and HM bread first time for ages. Guess it's going to take a while to really feel I'm back on board the OS wagon.
Hope you all have a good day. Take care.Resolution:
