HSBC Mortgage problem

Yup it is Barclaycard. But as I mentioned I'm trying to get to the source of the problem quicker than Barclaycard seem to want to help also thinking that attacking the problem from as many angles as possible would be best.
Barclaycard were informed by me in 2007 that I did not open or use the accounts and informed of the identity fraud. The account was removed from my file in 2007 They were contacted this year by all 3 credit referencing agencies and ok'd the removal of linked addresses from my files but still HSBC say the link remains.
I'm not convinced that companies such as CIFAS are the cause of the continued link.0 -

Possibly was last time they inquired. Perhaps ask HSBC to check again. Now you've confirmed its been removed.0 -

The fact that you have already been accepted would seem to indicate that you have already past the normal credit checks with one or more of the 3 main agencies. It is my understanding that lenders will often, after all this, do an additional search on the National Hunter database for fraud prevention. Whilst they do not hold information concerning accounts, they o hold information pertaining to applications for credit that you have made. Although its late in the day, it may assist you in getting a copy of the information that they have in you with a SAR. When you have this information, at least you will have something to fight with. I would also suggest that you or your broker speak to the underwriter.0 -

Its HSBC, they wont talk to a broker, and that assumes one was used which is highly unlikelyI am a Mortgage Adviser

National Hunter guidelines state that any marker shown with them indicates that a lender must manually underwrite.
But that doesnt change the fact that HSBC Underwriters wont talk to Brokers, nor the fact it is highly unlikely that the OP had used a Brokers services to source the HSBC mortgageI am a Mortgage Adviser

I'm not making assumptions, just a suggestion. And although difficult, even I've managed to speak to an underwriter after complaining enough.0 -

Are you a broker or a client?
I have never been able to speak to anyone that knows much about their mortgage criteria unless I pose as a potential client for them.
I have to go one websites like this to guage their service standards, doesnt make it easy to recommend them!I am a Mortgage Adviser

Maybe you're just asking the wrong people?
I managed to get a copy of my mortgage company's underwriting criteria and risk assessment too.0 -
Thought I'd give you an update.
I got a letter a from Barclay Card letter that I thought would sort everything out. Turns it didn't even cover half of the debt they were seeing on my credit report. (remember I cant see anything on any of the 3 reports and the the credit agencies confirm the same thing to over the phone) I asked HSBC to provide on paper exactly what they can see and what they want from me but they refuse saying the cannot share data they get from third party sources.
So in summary they want a letter proving that debt thats not on any credit report but they wont tell me from whom or for what amount. How helpful.
They have said I should ask for a credit report for an address in Manchester which was used to open the accounts in my name.
This seems a strange request, can this be done? Can you ask for a credit report on any address? Sounds like a data protection act issue to me? I can't ask Experian for this until Monday so just wanted to find out in advance from your experiences.
Going back through old reports from 2007, when the original fraud occurred I have now deduced its a RBS account HSBC are claiming to see. I spoke to RBS but they won't discuss the account with me because I'm not the account holder according to their records, they also said that if they did associate the account with me then it would be on my credit report. So even if I get this report for the Manchester address and says there is a RBS account in my name on it (even though MY credit report says nothing of the sort), how do I get RBS to even talk to me about when they consider the account someone else's, I guess as a result of me reporting the fraud and asking that they remove any link from my credit file!
It hurts my head just thinking about it!
Any advice? I understand that HSBC don't have to give me a mortgage even if its just because they don't like the look of me but they have got this totally wrong and it seems grossly unfair.
Also my 3 perfect credit reports (all 3 are virtually top rating possible) don't seem to worth the paper they are written on ( or the premium I'm paying each of them for this process) if HSBC see stuff that I can't. Anyone else had similar experiences or advice?0
