Help getting TV channel needed please!

Hi - when we first installed Sky years ago, we could quite happily get Central West news, which is relevant to our area. Then without warning we couldn't receive it anymore. Today we have upgraded to HD and the engineer said just call Sky and then could switch over the region we receive. No joy! They say its not listed on their channels, but it must be! Any idea on how to get our local news back - any help appreciated - thank you.

Central stopped broadcasting East Midlands news from Nottingham some time ago and combined it with the Birmingham based programme. What are you getting?That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Do you get Granada news when watching on ITV HD? if so try the SD channel. I'm in Yorkshire and get Granada on HD but Yorkshire news on the SD channel.0

On normal Sky (don't have this newfangled HD thing so cannot vouch for it working there, but cannot see why not) it was possible to add channels that did not appear in the EPG as "Additional Channels" - you enter the frequency, polarisation and FEC and up comes a list of such channels - it was possible to get all ITV regions.
These are not added to the EPG, so they cannot be recorded using Sky+, and you have to select them going into "Additional Channels", but at least you get the channel.
