Van Meuwen - Sizzling Summer Plant Deal - Rip off!

I too received the 40 hanging basket plants and complained a bit - and was offered a full refund without being asked to send back. Seems there are having a lot ofcomplaints? Have to say I didn't have to ay much before she offered me my money back!

I have just received my £100 worth of plants. How on earth could anyone value them at £2.50 each plus delivery????

There (to the best of my knowledge) was no mention that these would be plug plants. I only found mention of ‘plug plants’ on the delivery advice note two / three days ago.

I could have purchased far better locally (Greengrocer’s), much larger and healthier at substantially less than the claimed value (£2.50 each!) without the delivery charge!

I can supply photographs to MoneySavingExpert if required.

I’m all for a bargain but hate being mislead, this truefully is the worst example I have ever experienced! My family cannot believe it, they think it is all a joke!

Apart from them sending basket plants, not an accident--left with lots I'd imagine, I can't imagine they would send anything other than plug plants. Its not easy to send larger than these.

These deals are usually best avoided - I think MSE'rs had problems another company's similar deals earlier this year, being sent half dead plants.

That's quite true but by the same token they can't claim 40 plug plants are worth £100 either.

My plants arrived at the end of last week with the same issues. I recall in the original piece about the offer in MSE there were words of caution to the effect that the offer might not be as good as it sounded. Whether they be bedding or basket plants certainly not worth the claimed £2.50 each but I must confess I've kept them to grow on and will never go near Van Meuwen again.

Unfortunately they can claim whatever THEY think they are worth, that's the problem with buying plants online you can't be sure what you will get.

got mine too, all hanging baskets plugs, when I complained I was told they are a mix but with wrong labels!!
Will never use them again.
I will use them because otherwise they will be dead by the time I have sent them back, but not happy.
