    Afternoon All...
Clearly need to get my act together again as lately I've not managed to post regularly at all!
HH I just can't see that it's your fault - and if the only person you discussed it with was also sent it, how does that matter???? Frankly, with all the disclosures on the political front I'm surprised anyone is stupid enough to send anything confidential in an email at all!!
Have tried to renew passports today - thank goodness I decided to pay the checking fee! Person who signed mine had used a slightly smudgy pen and there was smudged ink on one of my photos...then DH had gone outside the boxes a few times on his...! Oh well, try again on Monday!
Wish I'd hung bedding outside as it actually hasn't rained yet today, but I'd decided with popping in and out it was safer to use the airers in the conservatory. Nearly dry anyway.
Have decided to have a really frugal couple of months ( after next week that is, as DS, DBL and DB are all coming to stay for a few days!) Looks as if we may have to subsidise accomodation for DS as his benefits will be lower than the lowest available to rent in London. Not sure yet, but looks like it. So will really need to economise. If we don't, then at least the holiday fund will have something in it. I've really let things slip lately, just a little here and there - and then the overspends really begin to add up. Think I'll have to try to treat it as a challenge/game. At least I do know it can be done! Just need to do a bit of forward planning.
Hope you're all having a good weekend out there.
    Take care!

Butterflybrain - ouch, hope you are ok!
Hester - how can they blame you?!! I'd be tempted to go on the sick for as long as possible (if you get sick pay!).

I was MIA yesterday, busy day at work and then went out with work people last night. I had an awesome time! :D Very drunk, but not too hungover today. Three of my colleagues stayed at mine last night so just been tidying up.

Pouring down here :( doesn't matter really cos I'm spending the afternoon on the sofa with junk food and magazines :D

OS wise - house tidy, dishes to wash, may make a curry later tonight. WM should go on but don't really want to have to dry it indoors.

    Have a good day all

HH - Unbelievable! Don't let them get you down. Glad your car passed its MOT.

Butterfly Brain - Hope you feel better soon.

Been raining here all day so washing on the airers. Managed to clean up a great deal of the dining room - washed down the soot marked wall up to where I can reach, washed the chair covers and scrubbed the floor.

Off to work later. Take care. XX

    Hi.

Don't know what I've been doing all day but here we are late again. It only needs a few unscheduled visitors (and we get a lot of those) and some phone calls and I might as well tear up my to-do list. Also the rev has been in all day and that means lots of stops for coffee/tea/'can you come here a minute?' requests. Hopefully she will go to bed early and give me a chance to catch up on things that HAVE to be done before tomorrow.

Very pleased as I thawed out a small bag of batch-cooked mince for lunch. Also found some potatoes left over from before we went away so cooked those. Made 3 dishes of layered mince and sliced cooked potatoes covered with cheese sauce. Had a couple of potatoes left over and a bit of cheese sauce so grilled a rasher of bacon and layered that with the sliced potatoes and a sliced tomato and topped that with the cheese sauce. Hey! One meal for today and 3 for the freezer. I WILL go back to Symi next year.

Islandmaid: Well done you. Stick to your guns and it will make your future relationship with your DD all the better, even if it's pretty rocky in the short term. When mine were teenagers I had a poster up in the kitchen, "Mothers are people too." I don't know if it made any difference at the time but 25 years down the line they still remember it.

HH: If it weren't so tragic it would be funny. How the hell can they blame you for reading an email that was sent to you. Do they propose that you turn on your emails every day and immediately delete the lot in case someone has sent you something you shouldn't see? Truly the inmates have taken over the asylum.

OK, I'd better make a bit of tea and then make the sticky toffee pudding and chocolate mousse and shortbread biscuits for the drop in tomorrow.
Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

    Evening all

Bit of a night/day here as DS went out and came home well drunk is the word. Out watching the footie with boss at a well known cider pub. DS doesn't drink a lot and had no idea what he was storing up drinking scrumpy. Pebbledashed the bathroom..........! Arrgh! Scrubbed the bathroom, threatened DS with eviction, yelled at DH who has never "done" vomit and retired to bed with ears pinned back for further episodes.

Soooo....sheepish DS this morning with a sore head and delicate tummy. Sheepish OH for leaving me to it.

Me? just totally brassed off. :o

Weather carp, so did the shopping with OH and DS who followed me round being"helpful". I really was serious about eviction last night.

Oh well-It's the first time ever and he's not a teenager either.

Tired now after cooking vegetable stew with dumplngs as DH adores it and the weather is very suitable today. DS had toast.

Tea and biccy and a sit down now I think.

Nice to see you back Monnagran hope you and the Rev had a good break.

    HH ((hugs))

Have a good evening all. May your bathrooms stay pristine! LOL

nmlc, huge hugs, and for anyone else who feels the need.....
Busy day today, piles of washing done but persisting down so on the radiators and airer. Visited FIL with his cards and presents for fathers day, been to mr sainsbobs, have a huge brisket in the SC for tomorrow and leftovers sliced, bagged and to the freezer when ready. DS dropped off as he is staying with MIL this weekend, still not heard about his interview so we are thinking he didn't get the apprenticeship, so annoying when people don't send letters.
This week's happy news in the family came as a huge surprise, my mum's cousin has been awarded a British Empire Medal in the birthday honours list for services to Victim Support and health in Preston!
Right, my kindle is charging, will have a browse about then read a book, have a good night all!

Hugs Gintot - happened to me on more than one occasion with eldest son. Now he has left home and he keeps his home pristine:mad:

Busy day today with a trip to choose some fabrics for my quilting course. The choice was overwhelming and far from MSE.

Butterfly Brain - hope your bruises are beginning to settle x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
