Astra mk4 sri alarm keeps going off ...
Since 8pm it has gone off 4/5 times, I today when placing baby in car seat whilst out accidentally clicked the close door button on fob, I immediately reset it and carried on putting baby in.
3 hrs after getting home it went off, I have clicked the alarm key and it stops only for it to happen again an hour or so later.
Husband went out to car and turned key inlock to try and do something at the 3am alarm sounding.
Anything we do only works temp for an hour or so.
Until we can get to dealership is there something quick fix we can try? bear in mind hubby has no idea about cars as I'm the driver.
Car is a vauxhall astra 5 door sri auto 05
many thanks for any help

On the previous shape (dis)Astra to yours this was a common fault - it was the alarm siren box its self.
I would imagine they'd have sorted it out by then.
EDIT: Yours is 2005 model - is it the new shape (04-59) or a left over?
Anyway, another problem could be the air vents in the car - make sure when you leave the car you direct all the air vents to the footwell. Sounds strange, but it may solve the problem.
Failing that then it could be a duff door/lock sensor...0 -
A common problem with Vauxhall alarms of this age. Generally it is the rechargeable cells in the battery backup siren failing. When that happens there is a voltage drop and the alarm goes off.The man without a signature.0

Thanks, it's the new shape astra, I've done as suggested and if it doesn't go off in next 2 hrs i'm hoping problem solved, many thanks.
Vikangaero, if the above doesn't work, i'll nip down to the dealership and hope they can help, thank you.
I've given the dealership a call and awaiting a call back, bit worried if they don't fit me in today i'll have a faulty alarm all weekend. I've been inforned it's a vauxhall can deal with it only alarm.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
Rubbish lol. If you were local to me I'd show you somewhere that deals with stuff like that.0

I'm guessing your not near gatwick!
I've took more advice and deactivated the cabin alarm, that and putting the vents to floor touchwood have caused no alarm soundings since 8am.
Vauxhall couldn't look at car till Tuesday?? which would leave me with a nightmare if alarm keeps going off, but have agreed to have car left with them if it goes off again as they are in an industrial estate.
So i'm keeping fingerscrossed it stays off!
Many thanks for help.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -

Lock the car from the inside so that the alarm isnt turned on, I did this for a few weeks when my Corsa alarm was playing up years ago. I had to lock the drivers door from the passenger side, then shut the passenger door from what I remember.0 -
It's just gone off, I'm trying to lock it without alarm being on, but as you know it isn't easy only the drivers door locks.
I'm gonna try for another 30 mins then go dump it at Vauxhall and let them deal with it.
How annoying.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
mark5 thanky ou, took me a few reads to understand and I've locked it without alarm!!!!
I unlocked car as you said by unlocking all doors with fob then leaving all doors shut and entering car via passenger door, clicking central lock button then getting back out the passenger door and all doors stayed shut!!!#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
wrap the siren in a towel and pull the fuse or disconnect the siren0
