Mothers Day how do I cope ?

Have you tried any parenting sites/forums? Mumsnet is probably one of the busiest and there are specific topics for bereavement, special needs and charitable events as well as chat. Obviously this won't change anything but it could be another 'anonymous' outlet for you.0

Thanks, I will look at mumsnet. It isn't something I had thought of but it sounds like the kind of thing I need. I would rather be anonymous than to have people around me know that I can't cope.

I feel for you, it`s 14 years since my mum died of cancer aged 46- she never knew my hubbie or my children.
I would like to say it gets easier but not always, mothers day, birthdays and xmas are also hard- plus thebirth of new children and thier birthdays.
We always talk about my mum/grandma on mothers day and have a cry.
This year will be even harder as just found out my dad has terminal cancer-life sucks but it must also go on.
Have a cry and think about the good times, also enjoy it as a mother yourself.April Grocery challange £175

I don't know what to say.
I keep forgetting that other people are going through similar things.
My thoughts are with you and your family.
Thank you for your Kindness.

KT,
I think your family will be sensitive of you anyway on Sunday, however, why not say to your husband that you'd like everything kept low key. Let your sons tell you how they feel - but ensure they and your husband understand that you may need some time on your own on Sunday.
Be honest with how you are feeling.

http://www.winstonswish.org.uk/ if not for you than maybe for your other children..i've passed it on to a parent of a child i taught who's father died and they found it really useful and used some of the ideas suggested to remember him on Father's Day

Lots of excellent advice already given. I just want to add that it will be OK to be sad on Sunday - no one expects you to ignore mothers day/not celebrate. You will always be the mother of 3 children. Put a bunch of flowers next to her picture on Sunday as a celebration of her and of the precious time that you shared together. And, I will add you to my prayer list as I pray for all who will find Sunday very painful.0
