Hope this is right place to ask: I am going mad. Want to be able to receive e mails on my Kindle as am going to France and also moving house in UK so need solicitor to be able to e mail me. I have done all the right things and have just sent myself an e mail from computer to the Kindle. But when I then switch on Kindle I can't see how to access e mails. I am currently in 'Settings' menu and theres an option which is 'Send to Kindle E-mail' but I can't make it open - the cursor just jumps over it. Please can anyone tell me how to read e mails sent to my Kindle. If it works it will save me a lot of money and hassle.
Many thanks

What model of Kindle do you have? I have an original 3G Kindle and there is no facility to receive emails on it, is this something that has been added to newer models? Or have you confused sending emails to the Kindle with the ability to send emails to your Kindle email address, with attachments such as PDFs being downloaded directly to it?0

I think you have confused the send documents to kindle email, I don't think you can receive emails as such, you might be able to use internet option if you have 3G version to see if you can access web mail?0

From Amazon
"Touch 3G enables you to connect to the Kindle Store and access Wikipedia - over 3G or Wi-Fi. Experimental web browsing on other websites is only available over Wi-Fi."
So it looks as if webmail access is blocked over 3G, has to have wifi connection.0 -

Only on the current generation; the Keyboard version remains fully functional.0 -
I'm sure you can't get emails on a Kindle. I have one but have bought a cheap android tablet for accessing my emails.0

Its the 3G version of the earliest one (not a Touch) and I have searched google and lots of sites say you can do it, but I can't seem to. I managed to send a message which hasn't bounced back so I presume its gone somewhere !0

Mrs B has a Kindle Keyboard.
She can access her e mails by webmail - not sure if it uses 3g or wi-fi
I can send her e mails to MrsB(invalid)etc@kindle.com as long as they have an attachment0 -

The web browser was introduced with the third generation; the first was never made available in the UK. Are you sure you've got an original?0 -
Bought it in August 2010 when they were reasonably new. It says it's a 3.3 whatever that means, it does have as much connectivity as it could have had.
Thenks JB I'll try to send myself something with an attachment !0
