Well bit poorly today, on painkillers as waiting for a tooth to be taken out, but they make me feel a bit ill :-( so couldn't do the overtime today, have to be honest didn't realise how much the extra work would take it out of me. I was really upset this morning when I realised I couldn't make it to work, and cross with myself for putting myself in this position.
On the positive side it's really made me think, I don't just pay for things with money, I pay for them with my time that's used to gain the money, so I've worked out how much I earn an hour, so I can think of that when I do need to make purchases to remind me what it's really costing me.
Happy Sunday all :-)

Thanks Both

Tooth a bit painful today
if I haven't hear anything by tomorrow, I'll give the dentist a call and see how they are getting on with my referral, hopefully not too long now.
Had a good night last night got two and a half boxes emptied and sorted out the kitchen cupboards so I now know what is in there. Turns out I have three tubs of backing powder and enough Pasta for about 3 months  still will be able to have a few cheaper shops.
Ebay auctions end tonight so fingers crossed, lots of watchers at the moment.
Hope everyone is having a good day

How did the ebaying go?
LBM 24/05/2012 :TAugust NSD 10/12 * £2 savers0 -
Ebay items sold for what I hoped for so that was good, after fees should have about £21.

My salary payment date changes in August from 24th of the month to the 30th of the month, so I will need to make a extra payment on 2 of my credit cards, so it will go towards that, it's a good start. I'm after £125 for one card and £64 for the other so that's my ebay target by the end of August. Should be doable as I have quite a few things to sell.
Got a couple more boxes emptied yesterday, found yet more pasta  and one done this morning before work, and found a couple more items for ebay and car boot. So will list some more tonight.

:TGood initiative - well doneHello,
I've been reading this forum for sometime, and using the fab advice, and decided it was time to go for it and join, and get myself some extra motivation to get debt free.
Background to my situation until 2009 I had a really good salary coming in and money burned a hole in my pocket, then my postion was made redundant, and like alot of other people I couldn't find a job with the same salary. I did find employment quickly but ended up with a pretty awful company and changed jobs again the following year. I managed to do some sensible things with my redundancy but not enough, so stil have debt and could kick myself now.
Over the last year I have taken a lot of actions to get things sorted including.
Moving to a smaller house with much lower mortgage, which has the added benefit of being closer to work, and to food shops so much lower petrol bills.
Cut out some unecessary things, such as Sky, the tumble dryer (huge electric bill reduction) house phone ( I have a mobile so don't need both)
Started to budget
Started a finance diary so I know where my money goes.
Made some of my Christmas and Birthday presents.
Sold items on ebay
I am getting there and am so much more careful with money now, just wish I had gained this attitude years ago, but hey ho, I would guess I'm not the only one.
I always feel really motivated when I come on here and read the tips, and see how people are doing at reducing their debts so thought this would be a good next step for myself too
I'm now going to go and start drawing up a list of ideas for how to reduce my debt as quickly as possible and post it on here to help me to commit to it
