The decline of Quidco

  • My two tips are a) use a different browser, with no set ad blocking or cookie control, for all cashback purchases and b) use TopCashback instead as I've found them immeasurably better in every department.

things is they are tracking them mainly but then declining them 5 months down the line, I really dont understand why though.......last time I queried they said they paid it to a different user, how that can happen I have zero idea.

I honestly believe quidco are pocketing the cashback for themselves.
  • Thank you for this thread. Now, my problem is with TopCashBack, as is my sisters, plus reading the forum's it appears a fair few are having a problem at the moment regarding tracking. Everything they repeatedly ask you to check is done on my browser and yet I do purchases via Quidco and they are tracking within hours - TCB blame my browser, cookies etc etc. So, if Quidco are tracking within hours why isn't TCB? I've recently done a car insurance comparison and would like to give TCB another go and buy via their comparison but I'm not confident with them at the moment. I also like that TCB do often give more % and there is no £5 a year admin charge - but what good is that if purchases are not tracking with TCB but are with Quidco!.

    Decisions decisions!

Hi, the check in is an app that you download on your phone
My son has already had some of this paid out
You only have to have £1 before they pay out and dont have to wait they track the same day and become payable on your next pay day so my should be this week
Just doing my normal walk round our town I got 2 @20p and 5p
Easy money and did not even have to go in the shop the new version is easier

Thanks Cherie - but if that was an answer for me then it doesn't apply as I don't have an iphone or a tablet - just plain old XP on my desktop and laptop :D

Another tip - always totally clear your cache and cookies before making a purchase via either TCB or Quidco. I have my Firefox set to clear my system when I turn it off and to be doubly sure reboot my system so no other cookies are lurking in there that could mess up TCB or Quidco picking up on that cookie.

For every transaction i've done through Quidco, bar one, I've had to open a support ticket. I've even been waiting 13 months for Tombola to track and pay out. My visit was recorded when I initially took the offer, but here we are, 13 months later, and I still don't have my £10 pounds.

And when I only recently read about Tombola at TCB, I saw many customer reviews saying they'd tracked within the hour.

Something that did tickle me though is when I opened my third support ticket for Tombola, I received exactly the same cut-and-paste response that I'd received for the second one. So i went back to the second ticket and cut-and-pasted my response back :)

I'm just sitting it out now. when i get all the cashback that's owed to me, i'm certainly never using quidco again.

I have been waiting 13 months for Topcashback to pay out on "Lets Go Rewards" despite the transaction being confirmed on the TCB site.
  • Glad I am not alone. I've had to claim 3 of my last 4 purchases.

One is for Plusnet broadband and the really annoying thing is when I clicked through to order you get a logo on the page Plusnet in Partnership with Quidco !! So figure that one out.

£50 from Orange is particularly annoying as swapped my wife to Sim Only as her phone was OK only for it to be declined yet I'm paying them £20-£30 a month for the sim contract. I am now jumping through hoops sending copies of bills etc and every couple of weeks just get an e-mail "we are still dealing with your claim", not expecting much?
  • I also moved from quidco to TCB. Like most companies, they start out with excellent customer service at the start and then when they get big they dont give a sh*t. In the end they will die off.

personally i love topcashback - i chose them over quidco in the beginning as topcashback didn't (and still don't) take any fees, whereas quidco took the first £5 of your cashback recieved each year.

i have always found the TCB customer service excellent - prompt, friendly and providing a clear explanation of any issues you might have. had a recent problem with their new comparison tool which i reported to them in a slightly narked manner (as had battled with it for a while!), and they could not have been nicer to me - made me feel bad for being snarky in my email to them!

also, you can opt for amazon vouchers instead of cash and get a higher rate, plus they top up too. not entirely clear how they make their referral fees if they pass it all onto the customer as they claim, but i'm not complaining!

Topcashback make their money because they have google adsense all over their site therefore they just make money from the website traffic. They can then afford to take less/no cut of cashback.
