Talk Talk Change of Ownership problem- advice please?

Hi all, I was hoping someone could take the time to read this as i am completely lost with Talk Talk
Can anyone advise me on my problem with talk talk's change of ownership, or even point me to any previous threads where this has been discussed?
Talk Talk won't discuss anything with me as I'm not yet the official account holder.
I moved into a new flat a few months ago and agreed with the previous tenant I would take on his Talk Talk account.
We filled in a Change of Ownership form, so the ownership of the account would swap from him to me. I sent that to Talk Talk mid April, it's says it takes 28 days to process but now 2 months later the account still has not switched over to me.
I believe the delay is due to the previous tenant cancelling his direct debit before settling his account with Talk Talk. Each month the phone and Internet has cut off and I have had to get the previous tenant to make a phone payment then transferred the money to him.
It's expensive and I want out. I want to void the form we filled in and inform Talk Talk I no longer want to take on ownership of the account once the existing account holder's bill is settled. However they won't tell me if this is possible as I am not presently the registered account holder.
Has anyone else been in this same situation? I have just signed up with O2 for half the price so really want nothing to do with this Talk Talk account.
I have my fingers crossed someone will have all the answers!
