It stays red for a little while not really that long, thats where the aloe vera helps, it rehydrates the skin, make sure its the 100% to be honest as soon as the heat goes out of it thats it you don't notice it afterwards. If it is bugging you and you have the wax done every 5 weeks you would be better off having it lasered, go and see what they say. I wish i'd had mine done years before. I know how you feel with your top lip I had a relative with the same thing and it really got her down, convinced people were looking at it all the time. Most of the time it wasn't as bad as she thought, but for you once its gone its gone!!! Just keep topped up with the aloe vera and its quicker to go back to normal!0

So is it really permanent? I want my legs doing but I don't want to shell out loads of money if in a few months time they're back to square 1!0

The redness depends on how sensitive your skin is. Mine is gone in minutes.
How many treatments will also vary person to person and for different areas. My bikini line took just 2 full treatments, but with a few more for the missed hairs. My upper lip isn't hairfree after 5 years because my hair is so fine, but I get it done every 8-10 weeks anyway as it's easier than bleaching or waxing every 3-4 weeks. I still get a few hairs on my chin, but they seem to be new ones. My doctor tested for polycystic ovary thingy but said I was fine. However, he said the same to my sister who has since had it diagnosed over in Dublin where they diagnose it differently.
It doesn't work on white (grey) hair, so that's one of the reasons i'm getting more areas done before old age prevents me! It also doesn't work on tanned skin, so summer isn't the best time to think about getting it done if you're planning on being in the sun. And I definitely agree with halloweenqueen about the aloe vera gel
The two best salons I've used are Harley Medical Group (with the alexandrite laser which I found best) expensive but very good, and Christianos (with the ruby laser which was second best for me) good and very cheap, charge by treatment area or laser time. Both have branches all over. I've also tried Boston clinic (rubbish laser) and hairaway where my sister was left with burnt skin.0 -

I had my  done a couple of years ago. I had 5 sessions and the results are brilliant. I should have had more sessions but cost was an issue so I still shave the small amount of regrowth (will def. have a few more sessions when finances allow). I have very thick, very dark hair.

I have Polycystic Ovary syndrome, as do all of my daughters.

What kind of laser/treatment did you have? Where did you have it (as in which company)
How much regrowth did you get?
