If you are a broker where's your signature?
I don't give financial advice to people on here (I used to but don't any more) so don't see the need to have one. I use the forums for my own personal use rather than to give others advice.
Others don't have a signature saying I am a plumber, I am a shop assistant so unless I am giving financial advice I don't see the need to have the I am a broker label.
Just telling the OP how it is with Santander at the moment.I am a Mortgage Adviser
You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser Code of Conduct. Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice.0 -

Plumbers are not FSA registered though, you may not feel you are giving advice, but that is not how the FSA view it, you should have the signature/disclaimer to protect yourself as much as anything.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. He's right - the minute that you posted "I'm a broker" could lead some people to believe that you are giving advice - and as it's easy to work out your name.......All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0

Strange how every other lender that I spoke to - including notoriously conservative lenders like Coventry BS - thought that Santander were off their rocker then....
Anyway, it's all good now - I've moved to a new provider and will be mortgage and debt free in 9 years
Coventry aren't particularly conservative. Well done on being debt free in 9 years (if you don't borrow any more of course...), you've shopped around, found a better deal and appear to not be very happy about it. Bizarre. Santander are !!!!, you've been the idiot for putting everything with them for so many years already. They're probably embarrassed at how much they've raped you for.
wh05, I know their criteria, that's why they can't do it and fair play if they think that's a problem then they don't want to do it. I don't agree with it but banks reducing the amount of risk they take and they get slated? I imagine to same morons are whining about banks getting bailouts and banker bonuses. The J is a Financial Advisor-This site doesn't check anyone's status and as such any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice. It's not actually as I have since married and changed my name so am as anonymous as everyone else on here.
Anyways backing out of discussions.
Tend to just read this forum rather than posting - precisely as I don't want to give advice incase things go tits up as we haven't done a full fact find.
I just found it incredibly annoying posting in other areas of the forum with that signature at the bottom when it bore no relevance to what I was saying.
Anyway best of luck opI am a Mortgage Adviser

What an obnoxious little !!!!! you are
Now move along........All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
Ok we have a business current account with them, credit card, client account, personal account, savings account and an isa. Had a loan but it is all paid off.
I paid my santander credit card online using my santander current account. The money went straight in. One week later I had a call from a lady saying that I had not paid my card? I explained and she said sorry.
One week after that I had another call from their collections dept!!!! To cut a long story short there had been a tech error on their systems which mean that my money had still not reached my c card.
Two phones calls later it was sorted. I actually feel sorry for the staff they must know that their systems do not work!Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
At the end of the day all these things are commercial decisions. OP, I understand your annoyance but banks make their money from people not switching and being lazy/ trusting so they are going to prefer to lose a few if this means that many stay on more expensive products.0

Oh I'm sorry. You're a financial genius and you done em lad, you've absolutely gone and done em. I just saw the CEO and CFO of Santander and they were literally CRYING into their soup and asking me to get you to reconsider.
