post office savings problem

Yes i know what is needed, i don't have any other documents and 99% of things these days are paperless.
Im going to leave this application to lapse, obviously the post office/some irish bank doesn't want my money to invest.
ALL financial institutions are required by law to verify your ID and address before they let you operate any account to stop money laundering and fraud. They might open an account for you but then check for your financial records.
If they don't find any then they will ask for the ID/adddress details as the Post Office has done now.
No bank or other financial statements means you don't have a credit record, no HMRC tax documents means no employment. You have no benefit statements and yet you have savings that HMRC will be notified of for tax purposes.
Sorry but this is sounding more and more suspicious.
Also leaving this application to lapse might go onto a Risk record that other institutions might be able to see when you apply elsewhere.
Sorry but I would be surprised if ANY financial institution will give you an account.0 -
Just noticed in your first post that you sent a personal cheque to the Post Office.
So how is it that you don't have any bank statements ?0 -
Ive already made my decision a few posts back, any further replies are pointless and have nothing to do with my thread.
