5 minute meals

Hi,
I know there are a few advice threads but I was hoping to collect a few recipes together.
Normally I stick to some of the brilliant menu plans on here but there are some nights where I can't face doing anything and the takeaway menus beckon. I was wondering if people have simple, cheap "five minute meals" they make in this situation?
One of my favourites, which is also dirt cheap, is mushy pea soup.
1 can value mushy peas (6p)
1 chicken stock cube (1p)
2 mugs of boiling water
Pepper/cayenne pepper to taste
Mint sauce to taste
Put all the ingredients in a bowl. Blitz together. No need to heat, eat it right away. If you prefer it slightly thicker you can blend some bread in as well.
For something that requires almost no effort it's surprisingly tasty and VERY filling.

you weren't kidding when you said 5 min meals. My quickest meal are when i've batch cooked things like spagetti bog or chill con carne. microwave a potato and put a mixture in a pan. meal in 15 mins from start to finish. other than that it's the usual of cheese on toast, bean on toast, pate, pasta with pesto.Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.0 -
You could do a similar soup idea using good quality chicken bouillon and a tin of creamed sweetcorn to make a thai or chinese soup, depending what else you put in it (ie make it spicy for Thai, and egg white if you want for chinese).0

OH made crab noodles for tea in 5 mins! Fry sliced garlic and chilli in oil until garlic just starts to brown. Stir in a tin of crab meat and a squirt of lemon juice and cook for 2 mins. Meanwhile cook some egg noodles. Stir noodles into crab mixture. Stir in some oil and then some garlic breadcrums. Yummmmmy!0

Something I often do if very short of time is to make up a packet
of pre-flavoured couscous and chop up whatever I have lying around - tomatoes, grapes, onion, cucumber, cheese, beetroot, ham, tin tuna and a sprinkling of mixed seeds. If you have it a green salad on the side - really tasty and very quick.
If you're not hungry, food isn't the answer!0 -

I always like to keep some curry in the freezer. This can be blasted in the microwave in minutes and stir through a packet of noodles. Not very nutrious but very nice and cheap.
Toasties as well, cheese and ham, make it in to a sandwich then dip in beaten egg and fry. Yummy and very quick as well.£36/£240
