New Member Looking For Advice :-)

Hi.

I'm new to the forum and i'm looking for advice on making money online.

I have agoraphobia which obviously means I am not a candidate for going out and getting a regular job.

My fiancee is starting up his own business with a friend but it's going very slow as it is still early days at the moment.

I am already a member on Ciao and have made around £40 so far, although I am struggling to do it every day as I am running out of things to review!

I have joined a lot of the paid survey sites recommended on here, and I am also a member of some PTC sites.

I am fairly good at writing, which is why I do the reviews on ciao. I have a lot of free time being stuck indoors. I have tried selling things I don't want anymore on eBay, Facebook etc but nothings selling much lately.

I was just wondering what the best things for earning money online were. If I come across anything myself I will offer it up to everyone on here in return.

I would be very appreciative of any help you could give me, and in the mean time I will be having a look through the forums to find out things myself. :-)

    Hey,
To be honest I don't know what else you can do to earn money online if you're already writing reviews, doing surveys and doing PTC.
My sister-in-law sells things she makes but that is only to cover the cost of her hobby. Selling things in markets and carboots would require you to be uncomfortable (sorry, I don't know a better way of putting it).
Forgive me, I don't know what it feels like, would a minimal hour part time job be out of the question as well? I know a 4 hour contract is possible.

    Good luck anyway. : )

A part time job is out of the question unless it is done from home :-(

I knit & crochet and had planned to sell what I make to fund my hobby but haven't got anywhere with it yet.

hi me and my partner have just read your post and I felt the need to write!. we're in a very similar boat and were just debating posting ourselves to ask for advice. I have a panic disorder and although I managed to finally get out the front door (nobody seems to get how hard that is) I still cant handle any sort of job and my partners wage just doesn't seem to be going far enough, its a horrible place to be!.

I know you might have already tried it but have you applied for disability?, a mental handicap (couldn't think of a better word for it sorry, bit of brain frazzle today) is just as bad as a physical one and agoraphobia may qualify, its always worth a shot.

we are starting things like the down shift challenge, I try and get all the freebies I can and I'm always trawling through the forums looking for new things to try, if I come across anything ill let you know.

it makes us feel a little better knowing were not the only one in this situation and hopefully we'll both find the answers soon.

    Thanks for replying.

I am currently on the lowest form of DLA, as well as getting a "disability" premium added to my regular benefits.

With my partner setting up his own business we're hoping to soon come off of benefits entirely, although I will still get my DLA.

It's proving hard getting a straight answer out of the benefits about how to go about it all though.

I'm forever looking for freebies, the last one I got was free teabags lol, only a couple, but still it's something.

I enter competitions for iphones hoping to win them and sell them on Mazuma. I'll try anything if it will help us get some money in.

I've not had much luck with Surveys, I always get screened out, and PTC sites are very slow. So far the best earner has been Ciao and a Free Cash Back site I joined the other day, although I haven't had anything in real money off of that one yet. I have off Ciao though :D

That sounds good in theory except for the handing out business cards in bars/clubs part.

I'm housebound so it has to be things done from home, and preferably with little or no spending to begin with.

  • Hi,
Im pretty new too, but already I have found that there are loads of ways to make a little extra money or get freebies. Have you signed up to be a bzz agent? I can't post links yet but there is another post on this board about it. Essentially they send you products to try out and review, and you are meant to spead your thoughts about it to others. You do not need to leave the house though, you could always blog about it, call someone or tell your fiancee. Once you have tried the products for Bzz, you can always review them on ciao and dooyoo. I have recieved everything from toothpaste to fizzy drinks.

  • I haven't heard of it before but I will have a look and see what I can find out.

Any idea how long it takes before we can post links??

  • I think that we have to post a certain number of posts before we can do that. Im not sure how many it is though.

Have you signed up to DooYoo as well as Ciao? They are very similar and you can just copy and paste your reviews.

  • I was on Dooyoo but I couldn't get on with it, it takes longer to earn anything on there. Even with just copy and pasting it seemed like a waste of time to me personally.

I get on best with ciao, i'd join any others that were as good though, just not come across any yet.
