I had trouble too and was ready to throw it out the window... but what you need to do is you press the button in on the bottom of the phone and then you slide it towards the top of the phone whilst keeping the button in....
Hope this helps - it's just practise ! xx** Getting back in the swing of saving again.... **

Thanks, I tried that and almost push the button through to the other end of the phone I am so annoyed with it, but it still wont shift.
I am worried the cover might snap! All that glisters is not gold, except moneysavingexpert.com0 -
It's a gentle push in and slide as opposed to what I was first was doing by trying to ram it in to next week.. it is a bit difficult at first, but gentle gentle gentle, with just a hint of firmness...

new ones always tight
push button in hard and get a pointed knife tip in at bottom between cover and center housing, use this to push cover up at the same time as pressing button.
when its been off a couple of times it will be looser0
