The FOS have a helpline so you should ring them up on Monday and talk to them about eCar's behaviour towards you. (You may have to keep trying.)

Then contact eCar and tell them that you have spoken to the FOS about them.

Also while insurance companies like other financial companies should be contactable by phone, email and fax unfortunately they have a habit of ignoring customers unless they send them letters by a tracked postal method. Even then they attempt to pretend they haven't got your letter.

I've had amusing times over the past few years telling companies who actually signed the letter they have claimed not to have received at their offices.

BTW the worse insurance company I've dealt with is CIS. They pretended to be contactable but made sure you could never get through to the person you needed or rang off if you answered the call. Even when the FOS got in touch with them they refused to co-operate it was only the underwriter of the insurance, Aviva, who sorted the issue out.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

    hi Everyone

I used Quidco co for the car insurance that I got my sister they did there thing, compared the lot and we choose Ecar, BIG mistake, The site was very confusing. , The payments were sent to another loan company. But you could not find out what a you were paying.

Then we tried to put my sister daughter on to her policy. After alto of two and frowning. We received a quote of £409.00 approx.and as her old policy was for £289,00 . We all thought that was a great price and as my sister only wanted is for about a month.Approximately £79.00 For a year we good. But it was not until she got her not statement fro the loan company to say that she had to pay £99.00 instead of £34.00, YOU CAN SEE HOW SHE WAS CONFUSED. After about 5 emails to ecar that have no got back to us. Also we complain to Quidco about the terrible cost of a phone call to £1.04 per minute. they said it was not there problem.

I hope you can understand this I do waffle alot.

    Thank you for reading this

  • I took insurance with ecar. I believe comparison sites are responsible for not blocking them. I tried to cancel a day before cover started. They took my money in a mater of minutes but I have waited for nearly two weeks for any contact from them. I have tried calling twice..pointless. I have emailed twice and had generic response. I sent a recorded delivery letter to their published address and it was signed for by someone called Edward from Motion Media Tecnology Centre in Bristol, which is where their den is. It wasn't even delivered to ecar. I paid annually up front and I need the money back. How are these people allowed to get away with this?
