  • Hi All,
    Happy New Year!

I have another 1.9% to declare which puts me over the 50% point now, wooohoooo!

£190 = 1.9% from money leftover in my account at the end of December.

My MBNA PPI claim was rejected, I ticked the box to accept the PPI apparently, so no money coming from there like I'd hoped. No more claims to make I think.

I applied a couple of weeks ago for a 0% balance transfer card and was gobsmacked that they accepted me, now every penny really does make a difference and I have a better shot at making my debt free date of 31.12.2013 after all. So eBay here I come!!

  • Yay, happy to declare another 2.5% :) Taking us up to a lovely round 35% made and paid!

That 2.5% was partly from ebay sales - things didn't go quite as high as would have thought so maybe it wasn't the best weekend!!! Ah well at least we got some pennies towards the 100 ways pot and a declutter bonus :D £100 of it was from our lodger/friend - got another £80 due from her at some point so that'll be nearly another % once received!

The best thing is that the credit card I've been throwing these at now only has a £300 balance - it was £3650.27 when I began this challenge :D

I also did some extreme money-saving today - I usually cycle to work (7 miles each way) and despite the 8 inches (ish) of snow I cycled in today as well - my first time in the snow and man was that a good work out! I was determined not to spend £4 on the bus fare ;) Working from home tomorrow though so will save my legs!! And also give me chance to get my ebay parcels to the post office on my lunch break - too many to fit in my panniers!!!

tattycath - we all have our falls! The important thing is to dust yourself off and jump back on that debt-busting wagon :D

iwaanabeasaver - great news about the 0% credit card, so nice when our efforts aren't being wasted on paying interest - less good about the ppi claim!

LMUD - hope the freelancing is ok and you find something more permanent soon xx

  • Hi All! Payday!! :j

So now my balance transfers to my Barclaycard have all gone through and as it is payday I have made my first payment :D

LMUD, please can you change my 1% as I am now onto tackling the Barclaycard which is £6862.80 and rounding up my new 1% is £70  But after todays payment I have 4% paid off :) not a bad start if I do say so myself :rotfl:
    2019 will be my year!!
