  • Well my ebay listings have all ended or are ending in next 30 mins. Looks like I should clear about £30-40 after all my cost, will update properly during the week when I've received payment and worked out postage costs & ebay fee's..... If it's lees than £40 then I'll try to make it up to £40, that way it will be half a %. If I could only sell my motorbike leathers this week that would take me to a whole %.....

Am going to list a few more things on ebay later to take advantage of free lisiting and start stuff at more than 99p for a change.....

  • Nightmare! decided to use the free listing in ebay and spend the whole evening lsiting stuff, well it would seem like the whole world & his wife is doing the same  Damn site keeps crashing & rejecting - this could be a thankless evening

  • Evening all. I listed about 10 things on Ebay today. All the things i had ending today also sold, mostly 99p bits but glad to have them shifted.

Not listed the suit yet. Think im going to wait for the next free listings and choose a better time, as its late now. Got the DKNY shirt listed this morning though, to end next Sunday.

Had a relatively cheap day today. We drove to a farm shop we've been buying a meat box from recently and bought another box of meat (£50) but they had no rump steaks left so we got 2 sirloin for same price. We usually pay £6 delivery but decided to drive there, cost us slightly more in petrol (90 mile round trip) but we got our meat today instead of weds if we had ordered online and we needed food today! So saved a £20 supermarket top up shop. :) Got home and cooked the last of the previous meat box meat, 2 delicious rump steaks and a ton of veg. Was delicious!

Tomorrow the cleaner is coming (the gift from a friend not a paid for by us luxury LOL) so ill probably do some sorting of stuff to sell etc. We've got a birthday party in the afternoon so that will be nice, its a 2 year olds party at a friends house so no expense there.

Dont think ill be making the extra 10% i wanted to by end of September but im pretty certain with the overtime we will have hit 100% on target by Nov 2nd so not too fussed! Ive also spent a fair bit of my PP earnings on winter stuff for the kids this month, all cheap Ebay bargains mind :) So TBH its still saving me loads as id have bought them from the shops for alot more money!

  • Well everyone seems to be doing really well, its definitely giving me a better focus!

First 2.something %'s came in last night, yey!! Well I say this morning, I actually ended up babysitting until 3.30am!! It did add another £20 to what was effectively watching tv so was happy. And it meant it pushed it over 2% so now I get to colour in 2 squares.

Is everyone still filling in their squares?

Missed the free ebay listings for my phones so will have to wait a little longer to put those up i think,, I get paid in 2 days so although I didn't manage to pay off the CC before payday it will all be paid off this month. No spending on it either so only the last bit of interest the month after to pay and then its bye bye CC :D

Is everyone still filling in their squares?

I have spreadsheets galore that work out my percentages and feed them back into the monthly budget and show me my progress in as near to real-time as possible.
And yet the most powerful part of this "challenge" has been the daily visualisation of seeing our 10x10 grid with 13 squares coloured in! The satisfaction of filling in another square once we've paid 1% is amazing!
So the short answer is: YES I'm still filling in my squares.

  • Yes I'm still doing my squares :D I also have a spreadsheet which shows me how much of my savings acccount balance is my 1% challenge (I would have about 20 million different accounts if I didn't do that) but I love seeing the squares coloured in :o

Also it's nice for the boys to see it as we are saving to go to Disney World and as we get closer to the total and departure it will be easier to get them to make sacrifices (such as expensive days out or buying 2ndhand instead of new clothes) when they can actually see the benefit.....

Listed another 20 odd things on Ebay in the end last night - I am so gonna make it to 10% by the end of next week

  • Morning

I've been popping in and out for a few weeks, and think your a lovely bunch :) so have decided it's time to offically join this challenge :D

Im lucky to have cleared my overdraft debts and loan a few months ago, but since then i've taken my foot off the gas and tight grip off the purse strings :o

I would like to get some savings together, i am aiming for a £500 stash to start with so my 1% will be £5.

Im really terrible at saving, so i will be saving it all in a terramundi (sealed pot)

    Waste not, want not!
Slow and steady wins the race!
  • Can I join in please?

Just doing my personal debt on this challenge (OH has other debts which we are also paying)- credit card & overdraft for now as this is a more managble figure.
