Upgrading to Virgin wifi router - how will this impact my (cabled) home network?

I currently have a cable modem to deliver my Virgin media 10mbs broadband service and this is connected to my home network router (Netgear) via a cable. There are 4 pcs cabled into the Netgear router which also supports wifi access for our 3 laptops.

I have just arranged with Virgin to upgrade to 60mbs broadband but this apparently means I have to change to a wifi router.

Will this impact my home network in any way - ie can I still connect a cable from the new Virgin router into my Belkin network router. If not, I have no idea how to reconfigure it as it was set up by my son who is now living in America.

Most wifi routers have at least 4 Ethernet ports, no idea what Virgin supply.
Should be just a case of plug and go.

you will be getting a super hub, on the back of the super hub is the login information to it, plug the box in to your PC directly, do NOT connect your router at this time.

You will need to login to the superhub using the information on the back, then you will find an option to set it to Modem only mode. Set it to this, save the settings.

Now power down the superhub, and attach your old wifi router to the superhub in the port nearest the power connection.

Your wifi should then work exactly as it does now, but quicker if the router supports it.

As Virgin are delivering my superhub tomorrow, I checked out this thread again. Don't understand how the link supplied is relevant as it appears to relate only to connecting a single computer to the internet via the superhub, not a home network.

To reiterate, at present I have a cable modem (fed by cable from road) which is plugged into the "master" computer. Then a separate RJ45 cable connects the cable modem and my home router (Netgear, new last year). Then I have four more computers plugged into the local Netgear router via cable, to form my home network.

I am assuming there will be an RJ45 port on the superhub which I can use to feed my home network as now, just swap the plugs over.

Problem is how will the superhub communicate with my master home pc, I doubt it has a wifi card in it as it is not one of the newest pcs here and has never needed one.

    We are getting 60mbs upgrade.

If you had actually looked at the set-up info posted above properly, you would know how many Ethernet ports the super hub has!

Sorry - my bad - I just looked at the first set of instructions given and did not scroll down to wired connection topic. Looks like I should be OK. Tx.
