O2 Question

Options
Hi Guys! Firstly this is my first post so sorry if a ramble etc.

I have a 2 year contract (business tariff) with O2 of which I pay £42 plus £10 insurance to O2 also (this cost isn't a problem).

I am 11 months in to the contract which when I set up was with the Galaxy 1 handset. At the time I was told that even on such a biggish tariff I wouldn't be able to have the Galaxy 2 model for free due to the cost of the phone. I have seen that the new Galaxy 3 phone is available with 1GB download, free calls and text for £46 per month!!!
So I rang them and asked that seeing I'm paying that kind of money it would be very good for them (customer service wise) to upgrade my headset. They came back to me twice with options that all ended up with me giving them money to do this (pay remaining contract etc). This isn't going to happen!

Basically I'm sure I am over a barrel but was wondering if anyone had any other ideas?!? They have said that they have also stopped mid-contract upgrades so it wont make any difference asking the question at that point either.

Any help would be great. Thanks! :)

I would look at what your monthly usage actually is. Do you need unlimited calls and texts? £46pm seems quite expensive.

Without buying out your remaining contract, the only way would be to buy the phone sim free or payg (around £500-550) and putting in your contract sim.

11 months is a long time in the mobile world.

You're either going to have to pay or wait - that's the way contracted mobile life works I am afraid...

    Wise?!
Their business is to make money, not to 'care'. How wise is it to throw few hundred pounds away without getting anything in return?
  • Ok guys thanks for that. Makes sense! Just have to sit it out or dig deep.

    Many thanks.
