Quick - Help me dismantle my washing machine

I've got a new washing machine arriving tomorrow and they are taking the old one away but I want to get the drum out first - not sure what I'm going to do with it yet but know I will kick myself if I don't try and find a use for it.
I just don't know where to start - from the bottom or from the top - is it easy or am I just kidding myself that I can do it?

The front of mine screws off easily - so if you could do the same you'd probably be able to see where to attack next!Lurker0

I know of someone who used the drum to make a rotating barbecue

I've got the top off but it looks like too much of a mamouth task given that it will need reassembling of sorts for them to take it away7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0

If its a front loader you normally start at the back. Typically you'll need a medium sized cross head (phillips) screwdriver and various size sockets or spanners. Take all the screws off from around the outside and the back should come off. Then it really depneds on the design.
Watch out for sharp metal sheet edges, very easy to cut yourself.0 -

It certainly won't be a 5 minute job.0 -
Check the screws. Most use Torx star screws.(".)0

Torx star screws.
So far, crews seem to be all cross heads which I have removed with a phillips screw driver.
Just going to look at the back panel now....
edit ....
Back panel seems to be rivited on somehow so I can't see it coming off in a hurry or going back on again for disposal.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -
