How long before a property is marketed actively

My house went on the afternoon I signed up with the ea on their own website and on RM following day.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

i think that is remarkably slow. you need to ring and ask what exactly is the hold up.
about an hour after taking the photos (on a fri evening!) we had an email with the draft brochure to approve. The details were on the EA own website the next day (saturday) and on rightmove by monday.
2 weeks is ridiculous.0 -
To be fair, ours took 4 days. However, in the last 3 years of house hunting, we know when properties hit Rightmove and have arranged viewings. A lot of our conversations with the property owners in these situations have a mention that we rang up the estate agent the moment your property appeared on Right Move.
Most of them say 'Oh, we didn't know that. We've had the property on the market for over a week'. So certainly 2 days, in my view, whilst can happen to a good portion of people, a lot of properties are a lot more than that.
But yes, looking back, 2 weeks might be a bit long before contacting the estate agents. Possibly you want to do that after week at most.
We've changed estate agents a couple of times and they have been between 4 and 10 days.0 -
ours went one virtually within 24hrs to the agents website marked "draft particulars" and fed inti the rightmove server over night. 9.00am the next morning we had the agents on the phone with 3 viewing requests.0

Mine went up on EA's site (HN) within a couple of hours with floorplans et al and RM later on that day.
I would not be happy signed up for paying high st EA big commission and waiting even a week never mind 2.0 -
I chased the EA's asking why it wasn't being marketed and it was on their website within two hours, still not on Rightmove will be chasing that one up tomorrow.0

I hope it's shown up on RM for you today. Your ea sounds less than efficient and you should stongly voice your disapproval (preferably in writing) & try to get something knocked off the fee if they manage to sell your house. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
