How long before a property is marketed actively

My property was taken on last Wednesday, sent them the EPC Friday, am i being unreasonable to have expected my property to have been actively marketed on the EA's website and Rightmove by now.

    Perhaps a little optimistic.

Have you had a draft of the sales brochure yet? In my experience, the EA will do that first and then put a "cut down" version (with a link to the full brochure, perhaps) on RM

Should be done within about 2 weeks.
External websites like Rightmove and Zoopla lag behind the update to the primary EA's website by approximately 1-2 days.
  • I think property tends to get listed quicker in areas like London as I have been informed a flat has just come on within two days of the EA valuing it. My flat (outside London) took 9 days to be marketed.

Mine was on the EA website an hr after I OK'd the details from the EA and the home report (I'm in Scotland) which was 2 days after the surveyor was here and EA did the photos. RM picked it up the day after.
Delay on the board going up should have been Sunday but it went up this morning.
  • My EA took pictures on the Monday and house was on rightmove by the Wednesday. Changes can be reflected on rightmove within a couple of hours. It doesn't take days.

I'd phone and chase them (I'm very impatient tho!) remember they are working for you for plenty £££'s! Get on to them if things are slow/not right

It depends. If the estate agent took pictures on Monday, then that's when they measured the place up, worked out the description text, drew the diagrams etc and loaded onto their websites. This would appear the next day. This would filter to third party websites the day after.

During busy times, even if you upload to Rightmove, it will take at least overnight before it appears the next day.

In reality most estate agents won't get things done that fast.

It may not take 2 weeks, but certainly for everything to be dropped for that one special client is unlikely.

In most cases, there are different teams. It has to be scheduled for one team to draw the floor plan. Another to write the description to sell the house. Another to combine it all and put it on the website. As it is important to get everything on the primary EA website first, all customer's properties are registered here first.

Then depending on whether filtration is automatic to third parties or whether they have to do them manually, then this gets done as a lower priority by the same person/team.

Some EA agents also print in papers and send out emailshots with links to their own website before its filtered through to third party websites.

There are estate agents that can do it fast, there are those that put minimal effort in and can also get it on there really fast but with no floor plans etc.

But on average, it takes more than a couple of days especially during busy periods.

Probably wouldn't take 2 weeks, but I wouldn't be concerned until it started hitting close to that.

The first agent I went with took a week. The second agent I went with took 48 hours.
