Does anyone have any idea when Coop are likely to upgrade their online banking?

Well you know I have been asking this for at least two years. I don't know which side you bank with, whether it's Smile or Co-op. I bank with Smie and have been very happy but not now. I am tired of the lacklustre old fashioned and very dated Smile website. It's never updated or reamped. Tired of the lack of apps and mobile banking options. And I'm tired of them never answering the secure messages for days and days. They are falling behind their rivals.0

I have a current account with Coop and loan with Smile. My main banking is now with Natiowide whos internet is very good.
Perhaps one day Coop will upgrade their systems.0 -
Considering smile are an internet bank, you'd think they could get their website up to scratch. It's a nightmare, even simple things like moving money from savings to current account always leaves me wondering if I've done the right thing.Sealed Pot Challenge #239

I know a Co-Op and Smile iPhone app are being launched next week (not for android just yet).
I think this step might be a bit of a kick-up-the-bum to update their actual online service, which while serving a purpose is highly dated. I'd forego all of that if they actually had accurate balance readings rather than waiting 3 days for it to sync up. They do have an SMS service though which at the moment is the only way to get 100% accurate balance readings.0 -

It's absolutely overdue by about two years or more. When I first joined Smile I loved its innovation and product presentation. But it has fallen so far behind its rivals. It's website is so dated. Why are they behaving in this way?0 -
Its funny you should mention this but I spoke to the Co-op yesterday about this and the lady mentioned something about "hell freezing over first...":rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
...only kidding but the Co-op do seem to be dragging their feet a bit on upgrading their online services. Maybe its a trade off between Customer Service overall (not bad) versus online sites (basic and a bit antiquated).DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

Don't know about upgrading their banking but smile are upgrading my phone call charges for their benefit if I have to ring them when I need any help.
Instead of an 0845 number which is included in my phone package (I pay £5 a month extra for this service) I will now have to ring their call centre by ringing an 0844 number.
Personal bank account enquiries old number (their most used number) was 08457 212 212, new number is 08448 44 88 44.
0845 number is "free" for me, 0844 will now cost me 5p a minute (plus connection charge I assume), even more of course if I use a mobile.
Also interest rates on credit balances are reducing to 0.00% (from 0.12%!), AER and informal overdraft rates increasing to 18.9% from 15.9%.
Note that interest rates on credit balances were about 2-3% a few years ago.Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to p*** us off.0 -

The 01695 number is 'temporarily out of order' this morning.
Also I was charged €0.22 from my Finnish PAYG SIM just to hear the ringing tone on the 0844 number.43580
