Budgetair.co.uk

Has anyone used them to book flights? Im trying to price flights to las Vegas for October and they're coming out a good bit cheaper than sky scanner. Seems a bit suspect.

Cheers bob. The reviews definitely don't look too good. It appears the old adage is true... if it appears too good to be true, it probably is

I tried calling them on the UK landline no. 0208... phone number and it was answered but receiver put down immediately. On principle I will not pay 25/minute to make an enquiry. At the moment they are £35 less than SAA but they do add another £10 for admin and airline guarantees so the difference of £25 is not that great. Also how does one know if the price shown is the final price - that it is guaranteed. I have read that some internet companies get back to the purchaser advising that the price is no longer valid and invariably has increased. In the end I booked directly with SAA who did not charge for using a credit card and did it over the phone also at no extra cost. The two people I spoke to there were most helpful and polite so to have a good service is sometimes worth paying a bit more.
  • Do NOT to book flights through this third party and reserve your seat immediately on the airline's website!!!

    1) Initially Budgetair may be slightly cheaper and offer a more attractive schedule by connecting different airlines in one flight package. However, once your flight gets cancelled by the airline on the day of departure, you are totally left behind as a customer. Budgetair declared that delaying my flight with one day (from Brussels to Washington) suddenly cost EUR 1.800 on top of the original ticket purchased (also around EUR 850). Budgetair blamed British Airways & Virgin Altantic of being inflexible to modify my seat and did not take their responsibility at all (even though my money has been paid to Budgetair.be and they control your contract/ticket number).

    2) My flight left at 7am, while the contact centre only opens at 9 or 10am. Furthermore, when an issue pops up during boarding, there is no way to get any support neither by the airline (as the ticket number was issued by Budgetair), nor by Budgetair (as they are not available during those hours).

    3) There is neither a shop nor a contact person of Budgetair to visit on the Belgian market.

    4) Contact Centre is very slow in answering claims. I am already waiting for a reply on 2 messages sent 10 and 7 days ago.

    5) A call to their Contact Centre costs EUR 0.30/m, and you have to wait a long time before you can speak to an assistant.

In my opinion, everybody should be aware that Budgetair's services are very limited in case of delays/cancellations/re-bookings etc. and you risk a lot by buying from them. In the meantime, I am still awaiting any response, a solution and a compensation for my cancelled flight (after having booked a new flight from another airline). Incredible story which highlights bad customer service.

Not in any defence of the company but when you book flights through a third party you often find you have their Ts&Cs on top of the airlines.
If this change was at your request and you had a non-changeable ticket - which it is likely you did at that fare, you will find that your option is to purchase a new ticket which sounds like what you were quoted. This will be the airline terms and conditions and no third party agent can overule these

I had an accident shortly before my departure date and, thanks to Budgetair's total incompetence, unhelpfulness and complete lack of compassion, I ended up losing my whole trip. Never again, I've learnt my lesson the hard way.:(
  • I would like to say disgraceful customer service, but actually there is none at all. I booked trip to Thailand for my sister and her family and due to unfortunate circumstances her husband can't make it. My sister found replacement and I tried to change the person name on the ticket. I was trying to replace him with my little nephew godmother so they do not fly this far alone! I have been trying past last 3 weeks and answer is the same "sorry sir your ticket is non-refundable" Even when you ask what is the weather like in Thailand. When you asking to speak to a manager, you are given either a false name or anytime of the day the manger is on break. After several attempts to resolve this issue, I was asked to call The flight operator for approval. I called Moscow to speak to Aeroflot, their advisors advised me that I can not change the name, but they can cancel with partial refund. After I called back and explained what Aeroflot has told me, the arrogant guy replied call them and ask refund from them then, and keep repeating it is non re-fundable, their T&C's are very blurry and very general, where it doesn't say clearly what the deal is. Three weeks of never-ending phone calls and still no resolution. And bearing on mind previous complaints, their replies are even worse! "Sorry if we were unable to help, however your feedback is appreciated" Which clearly they laughing in your face. So unless you don't want to get rip off, or simply being ignored by rude and arrogant staff who replies over the phone just briefly then AVOID as far as you can, as those people are nothing but thieves. Incompetent and arrogant telesales team. Emails are not being replied on time. And what is called "pushing the limits" is to ask me to cancel the whole reservation and re-book again, for another new full cost! I am shocked they are still holding licence to sell.

If you have any questions, please ask away.

The fact that they are refusing your request based on the T&C of your booking does not equal poor or non-existing customer service. You have been told quite clearly that you cannot change the name or get a refund so why do you keep calling them?
