Virgin without the Media / Quidco.

Hi Folks.

Wonder if anyone can clear this up for me, its a little confusing.

I was thinking of going with Virgin Media, getting away from BT finally, but thats just another story.

So. I cannot get cable in my area, but thats ok, I`m willing to just go with the Phone+Broadband. Ive got my MAC code from BT, so I take it I can just order a Phone+Broadband from Virgin Media and use this MAC and all this will be nicely sorted for me?

Secondly, I was looking at this via quidco and the T+Cs are a little confusing, it the small print on VM, it mentions a £36 broadband connection fee, a little steep me thinks, however the quidco site states :-

£142.50 for new customer purchase of Cable TV,Cable Broadband or Cable Phone (any combination), excluding Virgin Media National (see t&c's).

Does this include just taking the phone+broadband, or is this only for Cable.

Ya know, it would be so much easier if I could get cable TV, but alas, it isn`t to be.

Any info would be very much appreciated.

Regards
Gazza.

Be wary of going through a phoneline with Virgin. i have moved from a cable area to one with just the phoneline and my broadband is shocking. Always freezing, often not working altogether. So check with neighbours in your local area before you do owt!

And the benefits of Virgin National are slim to non existant. If you had cable access I would say there was no compromise, but as everything on be National service is 'virtual' I'd really avoid it.

Thanks for the advice folks. Its a no go for Virgin for me then as no cable in my area, looks like the search is on for a good broadband/phone provider.
