healthy start vouchers.

long story short- i have contacted healthy start 6 times in the last 8 months to find out why i havent received healthy start vouchers for my baby son- now 8 months.
they say tax credits havent informed them that i have had a baby and tax credits say its nothing to do with them and that healthy start should be able to see on their system that i have a baby son.
I get vouchers for my other 2 children that qualify but not my baby.
please give me some advice as they now owe me in excess of £100 and thats a lot of money to us at the moment!!
Im thinking i should write to a manager by email or post???
thanks for replying- i dont have a clue what i should do!!!

  • How old is your eldest child? I understood that the healthy start vouchers were for the under-4's. If your eldest child is older than 4, maybe the two you get are now for the middle child and the baby?

i have 5 children but my youngest three are two, three and 8 months so i should be getting 4 vouchers per week as you get two a week for children under one.

Do you have an award notice from the Tax Credits Office? I think that if I was in your situation, I would send them a copy of the award notice that includes the baby to them with a strongly-worded letter stating the problems you've had, that you've not had the vouchers expected and just what are they going to do about it.

Put the word "COMPLAINT" across the top just so there's no mistaking it for anything other than a complaint.

    Best of luck

Why don't you get the health visitor to complete a new form for them, detailing all the kids

seeing as they "owe" you in excess of £100, when it's finally sorted out there will be £100 worth of fruit and veg and milk in abundance in your house that you will be able to buy with the vouchers. The kids will think it's great!
When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

Most supermarkets let you buy anything with them (not saying OP will do this, she obviously needs them). There was a girl in co-op a few weeks ago buying bacci with them!!!!! I was dropped on, so asked the cashier if that was allowed. She said "oh yeah, the till jut sees them as a money off voucher, she buys bacci all the time with them!"
The feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea

I used to work at Sainsbury's and they were really strict about them, although I do think it depends on the cashier.

I think it would be dependent on lax staff/supermarket. It's not right that they should be spent on tobacco, I would consider reporting the shop if I was you, I don't believe they should be doing that at all.

I did think about it tbh. The cashier looked shocked when i mentioned i didnt think it was allowed.
The brief year or so i was on IS when my oldest was little, healthy start wasn't around. We got milk tokens, that we had to exchange at the doctors surgery for formula or with milkman for milk.
