It will depend on how much the increase will be, but a call to Sky saying I was leaving their broadband service regardless, and was tempted to leave all the others gave me a better deal on TV and Phone, so I'm paying the same but getting a much better broadband service from Virgin.
And how did you know I look like Rodney? I get that a lot. Well either that or Gary Neville. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

I think others mentioned a reasonable increase was acceptable0 -
Contract says it can only be up to 10%. Whether that is lawful or not, I don't know. I've seen other threads here for mobile phone companies where a nominal increase means that one is entitled to end the contract if wished. That's what I was asking about.
However I was mistaken in the thought that a change of address instigated a new 12-month contract. So I am able to leave at any point. Mrs h likes Sky TV and phone, but to just change Broadband would result in a £20 a month increase. But I managed to get that discounted from Sky as long as I stayed with them for TV and Phone.
So yes, leaving Sky broadband with a nice new 100mbit/s line being installed next week. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

So you have moved from Sky to Virgin and getting a much better service now....that was quick?0 -
And these last few posts are relevant to this thread (i.e. the OP's question) how exactly?0

Not relevant, but I like to think they've decreased tensions between two posters. Never a bad thing

That's exactly what was going through my mind when I read:Looksguywalker wrote: »What? Please explain the English law that allows you to arrive at a conclusion without hearing both sides of the story. You've listened to one party and come to a conclusion without the other party having an input? Is English law applicable here or are you assuming?
