best alternative to interactive investor

Hi,
I've been looking for a trading account that purly charges a commision on trades exactly like interactive investor used to do.
all i can find is companys that will charge an 'inactivity fee' as well as commission.
i dont want to feel forced into dealing every quarter, that seems like a stupid way to make money from shares, when i see a good deal i buy/sell
As im sure there are millions of interactive investors jumping ship as well, i'd like to know what the best alternative they have found ?
